The Gainsborough Bath Spa - Small Luxury Hotels of the World, hotel in Priston

Our stay was lovely. Our room was very clean and the furniture was in great condition, nothing looked tired or worn. I have stayed in many hotels over the years and have worked in hospitality in the past. I can honestly say I will definitely be revisiting this hotel and will be recommending to friends and colleagues.

The Old Manor House Hotel, hotel in Priston

Dating back to 1609, this charming manor is believed to be the oldest dwelling house in Keynsham Village. It retains period features like oak beams, and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site.

A wonderful and very old property dating from 1693, I think. Having lived 30 years in a 300 year old thatched cottage we are very used to the special quirkiness of old buildings. Superior room was a free upgrade as our originally booked room was unavailable for one night. This was (eventually) handled very well. One quirk was a a majestic and very grand wooden wardrobe with a malfunctioning key latch so that the door swung open as you trod near to it. Eventually fixed by wedging it with a teabag (unused!) All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Beautiful garden to sit in enjoying a beer, with plenty of good quality garden furniture. Breakfasts were excellent, and the one evening meal we had was very good and a reasonable price. Keynsham is interesting and just far enough out of the bustle of Bristol to make short hops into the city.

Stayed on a farm up high for 3 nights, overlooking Priston, which is a small, quiet village nestled in a valley and accessed by narrow lanes. Mostly made up of lovely houses with just one pub, The Ring O'Bells,, (which we did not go in as it was closed due to COVID) a village hall, church & old mill (again did not visit), it is nice to drive through, but nothing much to see as mainly residential with no shops. It is, however, surrounded by beautiful scenery with rolling hills & valleys, which makes it a very pretty area. Just a tip though, always got lost when coming back from days out, as they are narrow lanes with little signage or names.
