Everything!! Really friendly and helpful staff. The decor is high end. The food was fabulous and a super choice of wines. The place was immaculately clean. The rooms were so peaceful and we couldn’t hear any noise from the bar at all. The price does not reflect how good this place is. We were so pleasantly surprised. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Angel and Royal Hotel, hotel in Oasby

Idylically situated in the south-west corner of Lincolnshire, Britain's oldest inn, Angel and Royal Hotel, is an historic hotel that's said to have hosted 7 kings over 600 hundred years.

Very nice weekend in Grantham. Cannot fault the Angel and Royal, historic building that was kept very nicely oozing with character and very centrally located so handy for anything local. Staff were very nice, decor, furniture and fittings plush as you would expect for a well kept listed establishment like this. Everything in good shape and lovely condition, steeped in history which is evident throughout. All areas were spotless, rooms spacious and fitted with quality furniture plus all the usual in room facilities TV tea coffee kettle hair dryer iron etc available. Bathroom very nice and walk in shower as requested was re-arranged from original booking at no extra charge. Also has a handy car park accessed through the rear of property.

The property is well located in the village.

The property is well located in the village. There is not a lot around it, but the old stone houses are beautiful and the gardens at The Houblon Arms look really inviting. In summer I imagine it would be a great place to sit, eat and drink. We received a really friendly greeting on arrival. The lunch and evening meals were excellent. If anything I would say that the portion sizes were too big, but it was delicious. The room was large, spacious and clean. The only downside of the bathroom and separate toilet was the floors were ceramic and no underfloor heating. It was really uncomfortable to walk on them without shoes. They did supply slippers and bath robes, so we probably should have used them. There is also a hot tub available, but it was so cold when we visited that there was no way we were going to use it. All in all I would highly recommend staying here. It is actually better than it looks in the photos.

The suite was lovely and clean and the food was excellent.

The suite was lovely and clean and the food was excellent. There are hot tubs available to guests and everywhere is very clean and well maintained. Every single member of staff was very approachable and friendly. The owners - John and Vicky are also extremely approachable and friendly. The atmosphere they all create is wonderful and we will be staying there again. I would recommend the Houblon Arms to anyone who is looking for a stress free and relaxing get away.
