Apartment is very large and comfortable with all amenities one could expect. Basic provisions provided were very good. Beautiful gardens surround the property with stunning views over Minehead. Only a 10 minute walk to heart of Minehead from the property and only slightly more on return due to the hill. An invigorating return walk.

The rooms were well equipped, modern and spotlessly clean. Everything was catered for and the inclusion of basics like a fresh pint of milk and biscuits was a nice touch.

Blue anchore bay is not Minehead its about 6miles outside.
Blue anchore bay is not Minehead its about 6miles outside. Minehead is a nice seaside Town with lots to do, where as Blue anchore has nothing there not even a shop. The smugglers inn has a resterauant that is closed Monday and Tuesday and doesnt serve breakfast's, the prices for evening food there is expensive £17 for burger and chips ect! So its a 6mile trip every day for food or a pint of milk. Watchet is nearer on the coast rd but that is closed and its 6miles ther the long way around along the A39. My advice is pick Watchet or Minehead itself for your stay.

We enjoyed sitting down by the harbour.
We enjoyed sitting down by the harbour. There is a lovely little town with lots of independent shops to look in.
Plenty of little cafes and places to ear as well as the local pub restaurants.
Large chain supermarkets have branches so if you’re self catering you can. get all you provisions.
Bus rides and train trips available from the seafront

Minehead is a charming coastal town with a relaxed village vibe. It's well-connected to nearby towns and attractions via bus, train, and scenic coastal paths. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable, making it a great spot for a peaceful getaway.

The crowded bus from Taunton station was the main negative.
The crowded bus from Taunton station was the main negative. Most of the passengers were Butlins visitors. Would it not be possible for the resort to provide its own transport-a coach maybe? A single -decker bus inadequate for numerous children, prams, cases etc,

Gorgeous town with a great steam railway and lovely cafes,...
Gorgeous town with a great steam railway and lovely cafes, shops & pubs. A very small area at the front with a noisy amusement arcade & close to a large Butlins but these do not detract from the rest of the town. Plenty of areas for lovely walks & especially recommend a visit to Tropiquaria nearby which is a fabulous aquarium/small zoo specialising in conservation of rare & endangered freshwater species! Dunster castle is also well worth visiting. The local park-Blenheim Gardens is beautiful, well looked after & has a fab little cafe.
Room was very well appointed but at the back of the property, which I knew when I booked so that was fine.
The hotel phoned in advance on the day to check what type of bed I would prefer which I thought was amazing.
The check in was easy, all the staff were really friendly, got me a free parking space, booked a table for dinner which was lovely as was breakfast. Great service in a great location with friendly very efficient staff. I'd highly recommend The Old Ship Aground and I'll be staying again.
Good location 3 miles from Dunster. We stayed in the double with en suite. Felt very private with own access. The garden area was the main reason for booking, as this gave us an evening option other than sitting in our room. Owners very friendly. Great breakfast. Lots of little extra touches you wouldn't get at a similar priced hotel. Fridge in room, fan, forget me box in the bathroom with supplies of toiletries. Parking. Great location for visiting the North Devon coast. Would definitely recommend
Nice hotel right on the beach front we had a double aspect view of the sea. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. The rooms were dog friendly and staff were welcoming. We stayed in October and had no problem parking. Minehead is lovely plenty to see and places to eat but not much choice out of season in the evening early part of the week more opens as the week progresses.
The guy that cleaned the room was a real nice person, very amiable; nothing too much trouble for him.
The location of the hotel was perfect for town centre etc.
