Where modern heritage meets a warm Derbyshire welcome. Oakhill is a beautiful Grade 2 Listed (Georgian style) house built by the Arkwright family in the mid 19th century, as a private family dwelling....

I came after a party at Crich, and stayed the night so that I could visit the industrial archaeology in Bullbridge. I introduced myself at the bar. I checked into my room and was able to go for a walk before breakfast whilst it was nice and quiet, and, although I couldn't find how to open the door after using the pass key, (a kind member of staff helped me), I was able to gain access to my room. I was able to have 'poached' egg-on-toast for breakfast. I very much liked the photographs on the walls celebrating the industrial past of Bullbridge.

Very pretty town, very busy over the bank Holiday, parking became an issue because of this, especially around the heights if abraham.
Plenty of small shops and cafes and lovely scenic surround to explore.
