Lowestoft is a stretched out place of a town then a harbour then the beach. The beach and promenade is its best asset. Along with Ness Point for the sunrise the morning after summer solstice. It beats Stonehenge for calm and still beauty at the most easterly point. The beach further along the coast is gorgeous. Lots of lovely cafes and icecream places but the most exceptional being The Thatch. Fantastic staff fantastic food perfect location 😃

We enjoyed the walk from Pakefield Caravan Park along the sandy beach with marram grass into Lowestoft with the dog. Several colourful beach huts and a lighthouse. All Saints and St Margaret's church was pretty. The Jolly Sailor pub is recommended but as we only had 2 days in the locality, we didn't have time to visit. We didn't eat out so can't comment on local pubs/eateries other than to say we had a few drinks and games of pool in the Plough and Sail which was enjoyable. Lowestoft has plenty of shops and is easily accessible.

Lowestoft is a busy working port.

Lowestoft is a busy working port. It has stunning beaches with golden sands. We have family who chose to live there so we are lucky enough to visit them often. We are wildlife lovers so there are so many places to visit a ride away like Minsmere and Carlton Marshes and the Norfolk coast. The trip boat for Oulton Broad goes from right outside the Wherry Hotel and smaller boats can be hired.

I love the variety of scenery at Lowestoft-Oulton Broad with the boats, Carlton M arshes, the varied types of beach e.g the sea front, P akefield, Ness Point-all different. Some very interesting musuems e.g the M aritme Museum and the one at Oulton Broad.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town. A beautiful beach south of the town, great for bathing, games and walks, and a beach north of the town that is more scenic but inaccessible due to the tides and ruined old sea wall. Loads of local attractions to visit including Africa Alive, the Transport museum, Sparrows Nest Park, Oulton Broad and Claremont Pier. Some great restaurants to eat at, but especially Sgt Peppers on the High Street. And being the most easterly place in the UK, make sure you get up early to see the sun rise. Spectacular on a clear morning!

The location was amazing, right in front of the seafront. Caroline was so lovely, couldn't do enough for us and even had hot water bottles on offer...which I gladly took! The hotel felt really welcoming and friendly, it was like visiting family! Thanks to Andy who did us a lovely breakfast! We will definitely be coming back again and can't wait for our next visit, it's a lovely location with loads to do. Can't recommend enough! Thanks both!

We took the continental breakfast mostly, and it was generous, and a cooked breakfast once, and it was just as good. The owners were very helpful about facilities, transport and other dining possibilities in the area. Parking was easy, on the road just in front of the hotel. The honesty bar was well stocked and very comfortable. We would definitely go back to this hotel when visiting the east coast.

So good stayed another night. Family crisis so needed a hotel in Lowestoft at short notice and not sure how long. In the end arrived very late 01:00 but Lauren the manager sorted out everything and even gave me mobile number just in case. This morning had great breakfast, almost as good as mine! Room was great, good shower, good bed, ground floor, windows open, just right and only £80.

Great caravan in a holiday park. Was clean ant tidy. The wifi was excellent. The beach is a 2 minute walk away, although it's a bit of a trek to get to central Lowestoft. The holiday park has a restaurant/bar and a children's play area. Did not try the pool. The holiday park itself is tidy and does not seem run-down as they often can be.

The hotel is lovely. Very friendly staff. Great breakfasts, we liked the room keys that have a bottle opener on them. Accommodation very comfortable, clean and well maintained. We liked the Norfolk Broads, Alby Craft Centre, Lowestoft beach and local pubs, eg The Jolly Sailors. A great place for a holiday.

The breakfast was excellent, the location of the hotel was perfect in so far as it’s on the seafront however the overall area is a little bit rundown. The staff were all very helpful indeed. The restaurant was excellent however the menu is slightly limited around fish and chips which were perfect.

A very pleasant country hotel with lovely gardens surrounding. The only staff member I saw on arrival was a lady who appeared to be waitress, bar lady and receptionist all in one. Although very busy, she remained very pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was again, very pleasant.
