Aldwark Manor Estate, hotel in Linton on Ouse

In stunning parkland, close to York, Aldwark Manor Estate is a Victorian manor house that mixes traditional style with modern bedrooms featuring free WiFi.

The hotel is simply beautiful. My room (401) ticked all my boxes. Spotless, beautifully furnished , great range of toiletries and refreshments. Staff were super helpful. Reception staff both on arrival & departure were so warm and welcoming. Evening staff in Elemis were so attentive. The Irish gentleman (with the hair band) offered fantastic hospitality and recommendations. He delivered way over the extra mile. Finally’Debbie’ at breakfast. She put a smile on my face as she was so down to earth (even if the flat white she made my business partner was below par). Thank you for making a business trip feel more like a pleasure break.

Useful location and property was clean (didn't utilise kitchen as only there for the night as a stop over). Enclosed garden was a bonus though a bit muddy for us during our stay!

This place is beautiful and anyone who hasn’t been I would highly recommend. From the friendly welcome text message to the extra touches in the room since we had just got married. The extra little things goes a long way and made our stay with our dogs exceptional and we will be rebooking. We even said if we hadn’t got married we would have looked at booking this for our wedding. Definitely booking again

Beautiful area and in early autumn it was magic. We can recommend the Dawnnay Arms in Newton on Ouse for an evening meal - delightful. If we went again following considerable rain, we would check that our route wasn't across one of the smaller bridges on the River Ouse - took us a little longer to arrive, but such a beautiful area.

Fantastic for us as we wanted to go fishing, beautiful place, tranquil, fantastic host. We arrived in the afternoon went straight out to take the whole area in and forgot about our evening meal, rang the host and she accommodated us with a fantastic meal. We were all well impressed (4 of us aged between 17 to 50) definitely recommend

Location, tranquility (which may be temporary due to fewer visitors at the time), friendly hosts and... North Yorkshire which speaks for itself. It's great country for cycling, but if not cycling, perhaps bring a car, due to its relatively rural position. That said, a bus runs from the front door! If driving, there is a charming old wooden bridge close to the village which requires 40p toll fee per crossing. It is possible to take a different route, but definitely worth mentioning.
