Room was very good. The majority of the staff were excellent, let down by the manager, who was rude and unfriendly.

Lincoln was a powerhouse of medieval England and retains amazing monuments from that period. In the Uphill district is the castle built for William the Conqueror. Inside its an original copy of the Magna Carta and its ramparts offer fabulous city views. Across the cobbled square which houses the large Christmas market is huge Lincoln Cathedral whose unusual façade features 2 tall towers, while another at its centre overlooks the Bishop’s Palace.
Connecting the cathedral quarter with the Downhill district is aptly named Steep Hill, a narrow street lined with unique shops and historic buildings including the Jew’s House. Even older are the Roman Newport Arch, Mint Wall and the well on Bailgate.
This road slopes down to meet the River Witham at High Bridge, a stone-arched structure with a half-timbered building atop that is the oldest of its kind in England. Lincoln boat trips depart from the Brayford Pool just west.
Another monument is the 18th-century Ellis Mill, opposite the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. The Collection combines an archaeology museum and art gallery, while The Lawn has a conference centre and the Joseph Banks Conservatory, displaying artefacts he brought back from adventures with Captain Cook.
Booking.com’s Lincoln accommodation covers luxury waterfront hotels, guest houses by the university and cheap apartments near the train station.

The Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in England.
The Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in England. The Castle is also very interesting, as was the museum. I only had 1.5 days and could have used longer, but at least I got to see the major sights.

Town of 2 halves - historic area is beautiful and interesting, but town then gives way to seedier areas with obvious drug related problems as you walk down the high street and you have fairly downmarket takeaways and barber shops. We had our car broken into in a quiet area up the top of town, so beware. Some good pubs and we found an excellent Indian restaurant up by the castle.
Steep Hill is obviously an obstacle if you're not fairly fit.

We walked round the Castle walls, steep steps but well worth it for the view.
Very steep walk to the river and shops, there is a bus going there every 20 minutes for £3.50 all day ticket.

Lincoln is a beautiful City.
Lincoln is a beautiful City. It is not a large City and steeped in beautiful buildings. You must go up steep hill (not for those with walking difficulties) and see the Cathedral and Castle. Keep walking upwards for other individual shops and pubs. At the other end of the City is Brayford Quay. Lots of restaurants and a great atmosphere - its very pretty at night. In the City centre you will find all the usual shops and restaurants. It

Lincoln Castle & cathedral quarter is a must visit, walk up through Steep Hill it's very pretty. The Museums are worth a visit and some are free, I only stayed a few days so didn't have enough time to do everything. Avoid parking in the city centre, their prices were nearly £10!!
Overall a lovely holiday in Lincoln but there are issues with the townhouse that the hotel should have resolved before it was made available. It's disappointing because the townhouse is beautiful with good facilities, wonderful hotel service as well as unexpected extras. However, there are some clear teething issues with this new property. I have made a complaint about the issues we experienced in the townhouse and I was thanked for my constructive feedback - which is helpful as the failings were at least acknowledged.
We’ve stayed in this hotel for a number of years when visiting Lincoln. We love it’s waterfront location close to the bars, restaurants and shops of the city centre. When visiting, we often go to the cinema which is just a few minutes walk from the hotel The lovely old town is a short but challenging walk away. We’ve usually managed to get a space in the hotel car park. Decent breakfast and loved the warm cookies on check in.
Great location despite a lot of roadworks nearby. We have stayed many times as we visit our daughter in Lincoln and the Hotel is perfect for our needs. Having the car park is a big bonus especially as we usually stay on a Sunday night when the Hotel is not so busy
Great location for visiting Lincoln and Lincolnshire. On a bus route direct to the city centre, and not far from the northern Park and Ride. If you liked walking, there is a 7 mile route along the River Witham which was very enjoyable.
The check in is from 2pm and check out is 11am
It is in a beautiful location next to the canal ,rooms are comfortable and clean and the onsite pub is lovely with free parking.
You can also get bus just outside the hotel into Lincoln
