Owners were welcoming and engaging. Peter and Izzy made us feel at home. The room, lounge and breakfast room spotless.
Choice of breakfast menu was excellent and food enjoyable and plentiful.
There were a number of personal touches included which made the rooms interesting telling stories and paintings which added quality to the premises and less like a plain b&b and more like your home. Decor of the rooms was fresh and pleasant. When we visit the area again we shall certainly choose Exmoor House for our stay.

Lovely double aspect room which was quiet despite being above restaurant/bar area and road immediately adjacent. Shower was absolutely superb.
Breakfast did the job but I have to say that our meal the evening before (where we were joined by a large family group) was absolutely exceptional !
Made to feel very welcome, thank you.

Lovely characterful cottage. Clean, comfortable and run by helpful hosts. Perfect breakfasts, comfortable beds, everything in good order.
Well-situated in the most picturesque village. We stopped at Lynmouth to have a look around and stayed all day, walking the Watersmeet river path. This place is magical.
Great conversations with other visitors to the area at The Castle pub. Step out of The Cottage into The Castle, opposite, from one warm welcome to another!
Chris & Clare think of everything for their guests. You'll find a cosy lounge with coffee machine; boot storage for your footwear after a day's walk; books, games and conversation to help you plan the logistics of your stay if you need help. Thank you both.

Did not have time to look around Exford as we only booked for one night. We were booked onto a special stargazing event, which was excellent.
However the drive over the moor from Lynton was stunning.
Exford is situated in an excellent part of the moor for exploring and Exford appeared to be a lovely village to walk around, with two pubs and village shops.
Horse riding available too.
Would reconmmend Exford for a place to stay for either a long weekend or for a week.

Loved the location, Exford is a small village with lovely shops, tearoom and hotel. The cottage had a small enclosed garden was ideal for our little terrier. The bedroom was lovely, comfy bed with enclosed dressing area. The shower was hot. Lounge area comfortable. The kitchen was great, we cooked breakfast and ate out each evening at some good pubs within a few miles and also walkable to Exford.
We enjoyed Dunster, Minehead, Porlock, Porlock Hill & Tar Steps. Fantastic area and would highly recommend.
The cottage is very charming, super clean, and the host (Joan) is a very nice and helpful lady. We came with my partner and a couple of friends and all enjoyed our stay. My friends have been able to work remotely from the cottage one of the days. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore Exmoor.
Fantastic location in the centre of Exmoor. The room was clean and well-presented and overlooked the village green. The pub itself has a good atmosphere and is used by visitors and locals. Food was excellent. Hidden gem of a beer garden with a little stream running through it at the rear of the inn.
