Fieldways, hotel in Edington

Fieldways is set in a Grade II listed Edwardian mansion in the heart of the English countryside. Free on-site parking is also available.

This hotel has buckets of character! the breakfast room was an old library and had all the original wood book shelves. There were wonderful period features in the old part of the hotel. The room we stayed in was spacious and exceptionally clean, the room smelt fresh on entry. The breakfast was included in the price and was wonderfully cooked with tea/coffee, cereal, toast, yoghurt and fruit freely available.

The Green Dragon, hotel in Edington

On the edge of Salisbury plain, this 17th-century pub provides bed and breakfast accommodation with free Wi-Fi and free parking on site.

What can I say? I had had a particularly traumatic day and arrived quite late. The staff were warmly welcoming, and the landlady went beyond the call of duty in listening to me and making me really comfortable and at home. I cannot thank her enough for her kindness and hospitality, and her patience when I accidentally pulled the whole curtain down in my room! The room was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Altogether, I cannot recommend the Green Dragon highly enough, and I shall certainly be coming back.

With a map it is easy to take footpaths up onto the Plain from close by the pub. Beware of the Military range - but some lovely walks up there and around the village. Church worth a look. Very unusual. Looks more like a castle or a country house.

Lovely rural setting with local pub and farm shop nearby. Would advise prebooking Three daggers if you want a meal. Beautiful local church. There are several good NT properties nearby to visit as well as some pretty market towns and Bath. Plenty local walk for dog owners look available too
