The room was lovely, great size, beautiful view of the coast, beach and seafront, brilliant that the room had a fan as it was quite warm in there and the bathroom had a bath which I really appreciated as I had just completed the Marathon Mighty Hike so it was a bonus to be able to relax in a hot bath and there was a bottle of Radox there so that was a bonus

Very clean with good facilities. Pier looking very tired with quite a few of the small shops closed which is a shame as definitely one of the main features of the town. Lots to do round town and along the coast. A visit to Harry Ramsdens for fish and chips a must

The bus service was amazing.
The bus service was amazing. As pensioners we were able to use our bus passes to visit Pevensey Castle and Hastings.
We also went on the open-top tourist bus, which took us on a circular trip to Beachy Head - unfortunately it was very misty that day, so couldn't enjoy the spectacular views.
We ate out on three occasions and can recommend Shimla Indian restaurant, Little Elephant Thai restaurant and Gr/eat Greek Restaurant.
We were hoping to get information about buses at the Tourist Information office (which was located on our little map in the centre of town). However, we were told it had been moved ten minutes out of the centre, which we felt was a very poor decision, since the original was near the train station and right where people would need it in the centre of town.

Hmm, Eastbourne.
Hmm, Eastbourne. Like many Victorian seaside resort towns, there is a faded glamour about it. The seafront and promenade are nice, and nearby Beachy Head is beautiful. Unfortunately, the town centre is a bit generic and down at heel, as well as the pier. Only about half of the restaurants seemed to be open. However, there are attempts at revitalisation, with the art gallery for example, and some of the larger houses outside of the centre look a bit genteel. Maybe gentrification will come soon, after people are priced out of Brighton, or dare I say it, Worthing and Hastings.

I was disappointed about the general cleanliness of the town...
I was disappointed about the general cleanliness of the town and areas away from the sea front. Bins were emptied but litter around them in Marine parade was not cleared.
The gardens were full of weeds along the sea front beds and not the usual display of flowers The remnants of the Burlington Hotel remain an eyesore and spoil the once good image of the seafront. (May be its a listed building)

There are at least 3 theatres. The seafront is attractive. The pier is interesting and well worth a visit. There's a big shopping mall in the centre but within walking distance of the seafront. Lots of reasonably priced places to eat and drink.

Eastbound is lovely for a nice weekend away.Take a tour bus on the loop good price for 24 hours use went to beachy head what is great for a walk and fantastic view’s and would recommend the Beachy head bar for food and a drink to .
Fantastic location. All staff very friendly and efficient! Had a double with sea view. Room was quite small, but adequate, with the best views of the pier and the prom! The bed was very comfortable.
We ate breakfast, which was hot, plentiful and a great variety! Had drinks in the bar after an evening out. The hotel is going through a bit of upgrade of decor inside whilst still retaining its old, original features!
Great location to explore the local area. Lots of shops and restaurants around the corner and the iconic pier to explore!
What an absolutely lovely historic hotel, a hidden gem. The location, staff, and breakfast are all fabulous. The bed was comfy, the room (bigger than I expected!) was cosy and clean with tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water on offer, the bath and shower were both good pressure and temp, and the staff were so incredibly attentive, welcoming, and happy to answer my (many) questions. It's quiet, rustic, homely, and very good value for money. I would definitely return here and stay for even longer next time.
The hotel is located right in front of the beach. 12min walk from the railway station. Many cafés and restaurants around. The single room was somewhat small but had all I need and was very clean. Bed comfortable and the shower worked very well. I am so glad I booked this hotel! I got an upgrade on my room and it made my stay even better! Monica at the reception was absolutely amazing and helpful. The whole staff was. My first visit to Eastbourne was an amazing experience thanks to Alexandra hotel.
Located right on the seafront, opposite a beach and easy walk to pier and town centre. Breakfast was excellent, wide choice and served to you at table, not buffet style. The hotel is charming and old fashioned in a nice way. Staff very attentive and polite ,the staff were so friendly and helpful .The restaurant was superb - the quality of the food was amazing and was very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning. The room was very clean and comfortable , had tea & coffee facilities
The location was excellent. It was close to the pier and restaurants. I loved having the window open at night and hearing the waves. The room was on the small side as to be expected in this type of hotel but you really can't ask for a better place to stay. It was comfy and clean. Eddy was a great host. I highly recommend and will stay again should I be in the area.
These comments are on behalf of the guest for whom I made the booking as I did not stay at the hotel myself.
"Everything was excellent and exceeded expectations. Professional and welcoming staff, comfortable room, great breakfast, ideal location for the beach, coastal walks and Eastbourne's artistic quarter. Bus stops and railway station nearby".
Having the space of an apartment is much nicer than just a standard hotel room, a nice kitchenette plus washing machine should any need it. Really lovely spacious and great temperature shower. Option for a late check out is good. Great location for Eastbourne seafront and town shops/restaurants/entertainment. All within a 2mins -10mins walk.
Chris and Caroline were amazing hosts and the hotel is beautiful! The breakfast was fantastic and Chris was incredibly helpful with local fish and chip shop, pub, and hiking recommendations for the Seven Sisters. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish - I highly recommend staying at Ravilious
A beautiful old Victorian hotel that provides excellent surroundings for a relaxing stay. The public rooms are stunning closely followed by the guest rooms. I would make particular mention of the staff who are very helpful and attentive.
Comfortable room, great staff, warm indoor swimming pool, fantastic view from the dining room. Despite the age of the hotel the facilities were good and the rooms draft free and warm. Breakfast was very nice
Very good location for Eastbourne town centre, the seafront and Devonshire Park. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Decent breakfast. Clean and relatively inexpensive single room.
Seafront hotel, sea view, and really comfortable. Close to town, very cheap all-day parking, and close to getting out of town to explore, esp Beachy Head area. Will definitely stay again
