The White Rock Hotel, hotel in Hastings

On Hastings Seafront, this stylish hotel is situated next to the White Rock Theatre. It features a lively cafe-bar, a sun terrace, 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi access.

Breakfast was reasonable. Would have preferred some more imaginative options on the menu. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Lovely pubs, lots of places to eat.

Lovely pubs, lots of places to eat. The beaches are vast and well looked after (we didn't go paddling though as it was November!). Seems to be plenty for families to do. Close to Bexhill on Sea and some beautiful countryside around.

Hastings has probably seen better days.

Hastings has probably seen better days. The town centre felt a bit run down and grubby and at my late arrival time was populated only by noisy people the worse for wear and slightly intimidating in appearance. I didn't explore everywhere due to appalling weather and my busy agenda but I have visited before and like the old town with it's bric a brac and 'junk' shops. The seafront is magnificent especially towards the aquarium, fisherman's museum and sail lifts / fish drying sheds. One gets a flavour of bygone days. The cliff funicular is great fun and the park at the top of the cliff affords magnificent views along the coast .

When I gave the rating, this was for the Old Town Hastings.

When I gave the rating, this was for the Old Town Hastings. I certainly would NOT recommend Hastings town center, it is worlds apart from the Old Town. All the people in the Old Town are friendly, welcoming, all facilities are there. Step in to Hastings center and it is the case of dodge the drunks and those on drugs, trying to hurry to the opposite side of the street to avoid the fights going on. Boarded up shops, very little choice of anything. Old Town though, seriously, it is like stepping in to a different county altogether, everything you want and more is there.

better than some south coast beaches...but only at low tide.

better than some south coast beaches...but only at low tide....pebbles are painful. Sunrise and sunset very beautiful. Old town is quaint in parts. We ate at the hotel as weather was variable...hotel was very nice. The promenade is long and flat ....so must be able to cope with walking for an hour or so depending on where you stay. Upper town has funicular but it was closed so its a minor hike to get there. Fun fair along promenade...I didn't think it did the scenery any favours but there will be those who like it. I prefer Cornish/Devon style sea side with a bit more natural or historic seafronts. Its all a matter of personal taste too many down and outs, druggies and alcoholics...like many coastal resorts these days

If you research Hastings then you get what you have looked at. The Front from St Leonard's and Hastings is vibrant and has none of the faded glory that some sea side places have. We always look with positive eyes on any place.

I was not visiting Hastings as a tourist; but the seafront seemed a bit run down and in need of some TLC. The old town was better and I had a couple of pints and some good food in a pub which brewed its own beer.

The house was amazing, it was a historians dream, we loved looking at all the artifacts and pictures around the house. The breakfast was fab, there was so much choice. We had tea and coffee facilities in the room, and it was nice not to have a TV in the room. The welcome was lovely and the host made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again if we visits Hastings again. Easy to park right outside the house. Thank you for a wonderful experience, the photos do not do it justice. The hotel should be upgraded to a 3 star hotel

This is probably (for us) the best hotel in Hastings 😍 Situated between the Old Town and Town Center. We had the room with balcony. It has the best view. Downstairs there is the fish and chips shop. 🤤 We enjoyed breakfast at the Cornish Bakery and at Petit Fi. Evenings in Ye Old Pump House, and around the corner The Jenny Lind. All within walking distance.

The property had an ideal seafront location. it was within easy reach of the town centre, the old town, the theatre and everything else in Hastings. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was spotless and so were the rooms.

Lovely old hotel. We have stayed her a few times now . One of our favourites in St Lens/Hastings. Rooms are spacious, beds comfy. Seafront location is great, decent cafes and restaurants nearby. Recommended.
