Corinium Hotel & Restaurant, hotel in Cirencester

Quietly situated in one of Cirencester’s oldest streets, this delightful, privately owned hotel and restaurant is just 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre.

I'm trying too be as honest as possible with this review as there are lots of good things about the corinium but also lots of room for improvement.... it feels as if the hotel is declining somewhat which is a great shame as it could easily be one of the top places to stay in ciren. so to start with the positives:- 1. staff - the staff are universally great.... friendly, helpful, all human and not just automatons out of the 'good hotel play-book'. The lady who took payment from me on the last day and who dealt with our "tea-bag issue" (see below) is very cheerful and smiley.... the young lad who served behind the bar and is studying at the local uni was relaxed and friendly - all good. 2. location - the location is fine - just a short walk from town and the parking is great as it is at a premium in ciren generally. 3. dining - there is a good choice of food on the menu and the food we ate and the other food we saw being served all seemed to be well prepared and presented. 4. room size - we had a (character??) room i think - nice and big but, unfortunately, we had the upstairs neighbour from hell when we stayed - stomping about his room all night and keeping us awake.... this was NOT the fault of the hotel of course and seems really common in places we stay these days - god knows what they're doing up there!

Wild Thyme & Honey, hotel in Cirencester

Featuring a terrace, bar and views of river, Wild Thyme & Honey is set in Cirencester, 12 km from Cotswold Water Park.

Great location, less than 5mins to Cirencester and 30mins to the beautiful Stow-on-the-wolds and Bibury for exploring. Great restaurant, outdoor space, parking and modern rooms. Nespresso machine and complimentary water and local gin! Well stocked complimentary pantry was a nice surprise! Stocked for feminine products, towels, extra coffee pods and teabags and a refrigerator if you need to store items was a lovely consideration. Outdoor spaces were spacious, with covered benches, fireplace and pods for dining! Super soft friendly too. Staff were so friendly and knowledgeable despite being short staffed, we never felt rushed or ignored. The Crown restaurant menu is fab!!!!

De Vere Cotswold Water Park, hotel in Cirencester

With a lakeside setting amid open countryside, the 4-star De Vere Cotswold Water Park boasts a luxury spa and stylish rooms.

The location of the hotel is lovely, the lakes are beautiful, and the view from our room was fantastic. There are a few nice places to eat around the lakes, especially Jennie’s Kitchen that serves a lovely afternoon tea. The Pizza shack next to the hotel was brilliant and really reasonable priced. The gym was good and quiet, and had plenty of variety of equipment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. View from our room of the lakes was lovely.

Lovely old town with plenty of shops, particularly individual, local shops. Good place to walk around and plenty of eating places and coffee shops to take a break. Great history around the town from Roman times. Unfortunately we didn't have time to investigate all the places of interest. A particular place to mention was Sudeley Castle which was an absolute gem.

Cirencester is compact and easily navigable. Many of the streets are narrow and quaint with beautiful buildings. The Abbey and the Abbey Gardens are stunning. The market place was interesting and had a good variety of stalls

Cirencester has almost everything a visitor would want from a market town including a Saturday food and produce outside market and a arts and crafts indoor market. This is alongside many high street chain shops as well as small independent shops. There are many restaurants, wine bars and pubs as well to choose from covering all sorts if tastes and preferences.

There is an interesting mix of shops, arts arts and crafts, parkland, cafes and historical sites. The church is beautiful inside and is worth a revisit to take it all in. The historical buildings from different centuries side by side give it character and is a surprise each time you walk through an alley or turn a corner. The food sold on the farmers market is a good quality and mix and the craft market is also high quality. We will be revisitng.

The market square, overlooked by St John's church - 'the cathedral of the Cotswolds' is very beautiful. The church is staggering - very large and ornate - an architectural jewel. Parking in town was easy enough (April, Easter holidays). The market outside the church (we were there on a Friday morning) was small but all of the stalls were interesting, with very high-quality fish, vegetables and bakery. We ate well at our hotel, the Stratton House just out of town on the Gloucester Road.

A very friendly welcome from our hosts Anne and David who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. Our room had the benefit of it's own entrance away from the Pub. Whilst quite small it was very nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the facilities all that you would expect. We had an excellent freshly cooked breakfast on the second morning. The Inn is situated just a short walk from the town centre which is a perfect place to sample the Cotswold experience. All in all a lovely place to stay. Thank You.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were absolutely brilliant. It is in the town centre, everything was in walking distance. The room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. Old fashioned furniture gave it a decadent feel. However, further plus that breakfast was amazing, plenty to eat. So was the dinner menu. The hotel has a beautiful pub style bar and garden too with plenty of parking spaces. Highly recommended. If I went back to Cirencester I would definitely book the same hotel.

We stayed in a suite for my birthday and it was a fantastic experience all round. Room was huge with a balcony overlooking the water and was brilliant value. The staff were very kind, complimentary champagne on arrival with delicious chocolates & complimentary cocktails with our dinner. They also allowed for to check in earlier so could enjoy the hotel longer. The surrounding areas are stunning! Went on such a beautiful walk by the water. Thanks again for having us!

We were on a walking trip and needed a place to stay near the source of the Thames. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the design of the lobby and bar area is contemporary and welcoming. Our room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The staff were efficient and friendly, in spite of being very busy with preparation for a conference. We were able to book taxis into Cirencester and the surrounding villages where we needed to continue our walk.

The Fleece is a beautiful hotel full of Cotswold charm and character, right in the centre of Cirencester. The room was cosy, well thought out with modern touches and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, and our experience completely matched the expectations we had after having carefully read the great reviews. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in a great Cotswold location.

Breakfast was lovely. Felt like we were at home with our family. Lovely old building, lots of winding corridors - beautiful. Room was fine too. Staff very accommodating when we arrived early and needed to drop off our bags. Thank you. Staff were also very friendly and attentive at breakfast. The beds were very comfy. We came to Cirencester for a wedding, I think we will be coming back for a more leisurely visit in the not too distant future.

Super Clean! Modern and fresh renovations. Pretty easy and charming walk to Cirencester. I had a regrettable foot injury at the time but still walked it 2-4 times a day. Next to a charming school and near parks and old churches. Bed was a relief! Really was quite lovely, the breakfast room, 4 Season room and back yard were all clean, cared for, and organized to a fault! Nothing bad to say about it! Breakfast was great.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Joanna made an effort to accommodate our dietry needs. The hotel is well located and they offer a good written guide to do a walking tour of the town. Our room was large and had a nice seating area. The lobby has a good atmosphere for having a drink in the evening. Coffee, teas and milk in the room.
