The Lamb Inn, hotel in Chicklade

The historic Lamb dates back to the 12th century and offers a pub, dining room and individually styled bedrooms with satellite TV. Stonehenge is a 25-minute drive away.

A super stop-over for one night in a traditional inn located in a beautiful village. The room was very comfortable with everything I needed for a business trip. Food and drink were available in the pub which was very convenient.

The Forester, hotel in Chicklade

Located in Shaftesbury, 27 km from Salisbury Train Station, The Forester provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

We don't quite know where to start with our praise for this beautiful country pub. From the gorgeous building and it's quiet secluded location to the stunning food. Our evening meals were to die for(especially the steak and ale pie with lovely gravy). The breakfasts were also delicious and plentiful and we all agreed we could have drunk a gallon of their orange juice!! Getting onto the rooms. Both were spacious and to be left such a selection of drinks, biscuits and toiletries was a delight. The beds were lovely and comfortable and we all wished we could have stayed longer. The attention to detail like leaving a box of tissues on the dressing table and bottles of water as well as hot drinks all go towards making this a very special place to stay. We will definitely stay here again if we visit our relations again or if we just want to come for a holiday. The owners were welcoming and attentive at all times. 10 out of 10. We would most definitely recommend this establishment to anyone.

The George Inn, hotel in Chicklade

The George Inn is a traditional English coaching inn set in 2 acres of beautiful grounds, on the banks of the River Wylye in Longbridge Deverill.

Whoever furnished these rooms really thought about it. Some of the details - like providing USB charging points next to the bedside tables is a great feature for such a small hotel. A Nespresso machine instead of instant coffee - these are really thoughtful things to provide. The basics are also spot on; a great shower and a very comfortable bed! The menu wasn't all the usual predictable stuff; there was some good variety. And the guy who looked after us for our meal - he was articulate, witty, polite and professional...and really good at remembering a drinks order for the next round and keeping an eye on when we were ready to order etc. Top notch service and such a nice chap.

The Royal Oak, hotel in Chicklade

Located in Swallowcliffe, The Royal Oak features a garden and bar. This inn features free WiFi and on-site dining. Free private parking is available on site.

An18th century inn the Royal Oak situated in Swallowcliffe a hamlet 11 miles west of Salisbury Wiltshire which looks charming and inviting. However upon arrival sadly not a pleasant welcome quite insincere from the landlord (despite having pre-paid for 1 night B&B) a very disappointing start to our vacation. The Breakfast was better part of our stay - the polite and friendly young female provided good efficient service.

Wedgewood Annexe - All the comforts of home, hotel in Chicklade

Wedgewood Annexe - All the comforts of home is located in Mere, 20 km from Longleat Safari Park, and provides a patio, garden, and free WiFi.

We've stayed here several times when visiting my mum who lives in Gillingham, and it's always our first choice of accommodation. It's spacious, warm, well equipped and Pat goes put of her way to provide lots of extra welcoming touches. This time we were also blessed with beautiful weather, so couldn't have asked for more!

We loved our stay at The Old Rectory Chicklade. The house and garden are beautiful, and incredibly peaceful and calming considering that the A303 is so close! The rooms were very clean and comfortable, fitted with everything we needed. Complimentary coffee/tea/biscuits were a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious, with many options on the menu to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. Last, but certainly not least, the best thing: the hosts Tim & Helen are wonderful! Thank you for a great experience! We hope to be back one day.

The house is gorgeous and Tim and Helen were just the loveliest people. the breakfast was amazing and we really loved the homemade marmalade so we bought a jar to donate for Ukraine and to enjoy at home. Everything in Wiltshire is 20-30 min away in the car and so much better than to stay at a big hotel with tons of people if you want to visit Stonehenge or the Old Wardour Castle.

The owner was very kind and let us charge our electric car, which was a real bonus. It was maybe our mistake, but we thought it was a hotel and we could get an evening meal, but we enjoyed our walk to the local hotel, where we got a great meal. I could not fault the stay ,other than the price seemed to be more like a 4 star hotel price.

Breakfast was delightful in a relaxed setting. We did not feel out of place or intimidated, something that can happen at hotel stays in the past. We have already booked out next visit in October!
