Breakfast choice was excellent.
Tables too close together. Very busy and noisy as a conference was going on. Comfy bed and we had nice cocktails from the bar. Good location.

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol boasts Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the River Avon. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbour where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.
Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I-listed Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centres at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.
As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.
Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artists Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodation, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.
This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath railway line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.
We loved Clifton village and the facilities there.
We loved Clifton village and the facilities there. We visited during week days so not much of street markets and not much was going on in the centre of the city.We also like the museums and the ambient of the city

Steeped in history , this city is almost like another exquisite country within England .
The cost of that though means inner city old & narrow streets make road travel & parking there a challenge at times .
The fortnightly refuse collections from the narrow streets are responsible for unnecessary unsightly spats .
Where else do you find spontaneous pom pom trees ; community grown fruit trees specifically for picking in the park ( St Andrews) ; tolerance with kindness toward those on the margins of society ( free food outlets as per Gloucester Rd) ; art tours around the city ‘s private residences ; so many free festivals ; holiday harbour vibe ; intellectuals residing in their beautiful University city ; beautiful architecture maintained as living spaces .
The independent businesses include a plethora of cafes , eateries of all sorts ; and shops & galleries providing hand crafted original items .
Hobbies are catered for - Dry ski- slopes ; indoor & outdoor swimming ( the historical Lido is a delight) ; Leisure centres ; the zoo moved to North Bristol & the Urban city farm ; glorious parks ( Blaise Castle Estate ); the harbour has so much - SS Gt Britain ; M Shed, Arnolfino - Original local Art is explored & enjoyed freely .
Apart from the Hippodrome , small & less expensive theatres put on all sorts of productions.
My daughter went to Bristol to study , never left & we delight in visiting our grandchildren in this beautiful place .
I suspect the impact of John Wesley ( visit the chapel & enjoy folk concerts there ) left the legacy of care & respect for all which seems integral in Bristolians .
A city where tradition & individuality rubs along in symphony with innovative modernity .
As you can tell , I love it.

The room was clean , bright and airy with just the four beds and four sets of draws , the toilets and showers were near by along the corridor again they were spotless , clean and well maintained plenty of hot water to enjoy a good shower. The Plug sockets 2 sets of two were set along one wall and covered by two of the four beds . And the two windows next to a busy road were only single glazed so the room was noisy from the traffic and people on the pavement. Over all I like d the Location and I slept very well despite the noise and the beds were to soft.

Loved Bristol very vibrant and great bars and restaurants,...
Loved Bristol very vibrant and great bars and restaurants, also enjoyed a trip to Bath. The Bristol marathon was on which I was not aware of, It was lovely hot sunny weather and we were able to eat outside which was nice.
Wow, this place is perfection. From customer service leading into our stay (thanks Marion!) to the thoughtfulness of every small detail throughout the hotel (a nicely stocked honesty bar, welcome treats, lovely linens, design, usb ports for easy international traveler phone charging, INCREDIBLY comfy bed) Hort’s exceeded every expectation. The old city center location was brilliant and we were smitten with Bristol’s walkability and whimsy. The bar and restaurant were lovely. We cannot wait to visit again. Seriously, just book this place.
Excellent hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The breakfast service was superb and the breakfast arrived promptly and was perfectly cooked and well presented. My room was spotless and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities excellent.I also enjoyed the beer garden where you could order your drinks and they would be brought to the table. As Ì travelled by train I was pleased that their was a bus stop right outside the hotel which connected with Bristol Temple Meads Station and the City Centre.
Breakfast was excellent as on my previous visit.
I was ill during my stay with a virus and had difficulty getting any sleep which is the reason I have been slow to respond to this request to rate the Clifton Hotel.
Consequently, not able to comment fairly on whether the bed was comfortable, although I suspect it was very much OK
Had a problem with booking in which was satisfactorily resolved and thought all staff helpful.
Clifton location is excellent for visitors to Bristol.
The hotel is located in a great area and I was able to get a car parking space at the hotel which was a bonus as I know how much parking costs in Bristol, especially at the City centre hotels. It was free to park although I think that may have been because it was a Sunday. Breakfast was okay. Good value for money on a Sunday tariff but I would have been very disappointed with my stay had I stayed on a Friday or Saturday and paid almost twice as much. The bed was comfortable.
The staff were really really lovely.
Breakfast room is more modern than the hotel which was a very pleasant surprise when we entered it for breakfast. Breakfast was absolutely lovely. The staff served us with a smile. Which goes a long way.
If they could concentrate on updating the rooms just a little and sorting the bathrooms out, it would do great for them.
The bath panel isn't a big thing to change and would have made the bathroom a little more appealing.
The staff was very friendly! Even though they couldn't give us two rooms on request next to each other, (I wasn't really bothered about it)they have upgraded the rooms for the best ones in the new pavilion free of charge.
The comfort of the room is amazing. We stayed only one night but it was really enjoyable.
The hotel is about 20/25 min away from the city centre that's the only downside , but we chose to stay there and it didn't disappoint.
I have stayed in some pretty swanky hotels around the world but this was just as comfortable as any of them. The staff are super pleasant and when I realised I’d forgotten my toothbrush the gave me one. The position is very convenient for driving and I was able to park at the back which made arriving and leaving easy as I didn’t need to drive through the city centre streets to get in and out of Bristol.
Great to have parking on site and the hotel was very close to the Bristol Beacon where we were attending an event. The check in staff were very efficient and friendly and check out was hassle free. Nice view of the city. We were also able to get a simple, but much needed, late night snack from the room service menu as we had missed all of the local restaurants by the time our show was finished.
The staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean. Location was quiet. The breakfast was good with a nice selection.
It is easy to walk to the city centre & river. Car parking was useful albeit limited spaces & £20:00 fee for 24 hours.. Bristol is a very interesting city to visit. We enjoyed our brief stay.
We would recommend this hotel.
Really comfortable room. Air conditioning, black out curtains and comfy bed meant I slept well.
Car park located next door and you get 20% off as staying at the hotel.
Tasty breakfast with good selection, including waffles you could make fresh yourself.
Good location to access Bristol city centre.
Staff were friendly.
Bar on site.
The hotel was very easy to get to and there's a large car park, just remember to register as soon as you arrive at Reception. Room was a good size and a little treat of chocolate was waiting with a personalised message. Breakfast was substantial with lots of choices. As a single traveller I felt safe and the staff were very friendly.
Lovely house felt very at home and is very close to the station and lots of other places definitely recommend. Will definitely be going back in the future if in Bristol. Just could do with some curtains in the kitchen area as would make it feel more comfortable at night.
The welcome was great when we checked in. The room was big, comfortable and with a view to Bristol suspended bridge. Breakfast was yummy! And the hotel is 2min walk away from restaurants, bars, pubs and from Bristol London Bridge. Great location!
With out exception the Marriott Royal Hotel is the best hotel in Bristol
Exception quality and style
Exception customer services
Whilst not the 'cheapest' accommodation (my typical budget is £100) the extra spend is well worth it.
For what is generally a budget-type hotel, the facilities were comfortable and fully up to expectations. Staff were genuinely courteous and helpful, especially in the breakfast area.
Hotel has parking rare for city centre.
Bar served the best pint of the weekend
Staff were friendly and extremely attentive
Good checkout time not to early
Great location
For me it was and will always be the best hotel in Bristol, I felt great here, and I will gladly return, a 5 star hotel that always puts the customer first
I love the interior design downstairs and the general vibe of the hotel. The free coffee is also a lovely touch. Mollie’s Diner had a great brunch too!
