Large room and bathroom. Attentive staff and room regularly serviced. Location good for railway station and city centre. Christmas decorations being finished around public rooms and even an illuminated tree in room.

breakfast was good but other guests felt the need to hold video conversation on their phone spoiling the setting , this in no way reflects on the hotel
Ideally situated, family-run Wheatland Lodge Hotel offers good value accommodation, just a 5-minute walk from York Train Station and a 10-minute walk from York's historic centre.

We liked this Hotel very much, the 2 star rating is a bit unfair, but that is due to facilities. The location has limited parking to the rear of the Hotel and is very tight, on street parking can be limited, but overall that would not stop us booking this hotel again.
The Staff are very helpful and friendly, that bit more than just professional, there is a family atmosphere within the Hotel.
The Hotel is clean, a very good breakfast and a very cool bar, covered in Laurel and Hardy memorabilia.
It is also fairly close to the City Centre and Train Station.
