Easy to locate hotel. Ample free public parking directly opposite hotel, but be warned that on Thursdays some of the parking areas are used for the weekly market, so are prohibited and cars would need to be moved on Wednesday night to an unrestricted part of the car park. Location of hotel is very good for an easy, gentle stroll into the centre, with lots of restaurants, cafes and places of interest. Reception staff helpful and friendly.. Room was spacious and clean.

Second time staying here and I really enjoy the quaint atmosphere of the hotel. It feels old-school with lovely wooden staircases, shutters and exposed beams. Free parking and a short walk into Chinon. Lovely

Chinon is easily walkable from the river up to the castle/...
Chinon is easily walkable from the river up to the castle/fortress ruins on small streets that are still used in the daily lives of its’ residents. Although old, it is lively and offers many restaurants and shops for any needs you may have. Rather a charming, old city.

The Royal Palace was excellent, with a lot of history.
The Royal Palace was excellent, with a lot of history. The old town was very picturesque with some excellent restaurants. A lot of climbing although there is a lift from the lower town to the fortress. A good range of shops, cafes and bars.

Chinon has the feel of a village.
Chinon has the feel of a village. It is not that small, but there is a sense of security and ample access to food, wine, and services all reached on foot. There is no need to use a car in town. The weekly market is vey large and we easily reached it on foot even though is was near the opposite end of the town from our apartment. The climb (many steps) to the fortress is well worth the effort but there is also a free elevator provided by the town. If you want to comprehend how nice it is, visit busy Saumur which is full of traffic, stop lights, priorité a droit, steep roads, and noise.

Chinon is a charming town.
Chinon is a charming town. Good size, not too small and full of exceptional restaurants. Close to many wineries and Chateaus.b we ate at Les Annes 30 and Table de La Jeanne. Both of them were really good.
Very nice property in the heart of Chinon. Close to the action its a beautful place to visit if you like a quiet and relaxing place. not mcuh open in the mornings but there are a few lovely restaurants around and coffe shops.
We really enjoyed chinon and this apartment was ideal. its small but ideal for a couple and the location is great. onstreet parking on the main road is best and then its only a 2 min walk to the property.
Used a door code to get in and out and its was all very easy.
would stay here again if in chinon
The place is incredible! An old farm house and two spacious rooms in a 15th century atmosphere. Amazing place . The owners are so nice. They give you the feeling you are special and have the best recommendations. we really loved them. Breakfast is homey and tasty and certainly not like a regular continental breakfast. I recommend this place to everyone who visits the Loire valley and wants to feel the atmosphere of agricultural life with aristocratic history. I’m sure I’ll go back if I ever visit the valley again
Very helpful staff. Hotel is like a Tardis. Lots of rooms but it is like stepping back in time. Website shows modernised rooms but we were staying in an older room. Staff Ensured we didnt get our car towed away due to the market the next day. Centrally located, once parked up you can walk everywhere. We were so tired after a long drive that I slept well. We didnt stay for breakfast. Market is huge and outside the hotel. We bought croissants and coffee from there and then continued our travels across France.
Stepping through the gate at Gîte la comète is stepping into a beautiful, quiet paradise. The gîte is just perfect with a small kitchen, very well equipped, the bedroom/ sitting area is comfortable and spacious. Bathroom is modern and well equipped.
Right outside the door is a small courtyard with chairs, tables, and just perfect for dining or just relaxing. Sylvie, the owner has decorated everywhere with personal knickknacks and plants galore. Our stay there was one of the best we’ve ever stayed!
Florent is a wonderful host. He made sure our stay was both comfortable and enjoyable. He has done a magnificent job renovating a centuries old building, which now has lovely, inviting indoor and outdoor spaces. The location is terrific because you can walk to everything in the delightful village of Chinon.
Clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Nice bathroom. Peaceful and quiet rooms and location. Easy parking. Several famous chateaus within a 30 minute drive. The charming town of Chinon a 10 minute drive away with plenty of restaurant options.
Extremely nice host welcomed us to a very beautiful property. Very complete equipment, comfortable bedding, well equipped kitchen, nice pool, onsite parking...The house is located in a quiet village just outside Chinon.
Maurice is the most amazing host in France. Exceptional perfection in everything imaginable. Words cannot express the cleanliness, amenities and his attention to detail. The place should be a National Treasure.
The room was beautiful, the terrace was peaceful, and the stairwell was charming. The hostess and her hospitality was exceptional.
Breakfast was the far exceeded the other 4 hotels we enjoyed in France
It was well positioned in the center of the town. Easy to walk round and near the river. excellent hotel restaurante and bar three doors away which also offer a very good breakfast for 12.50 euros.
I like everything about Hotel Diderot. The owners have continued what previous owners did including making a huge variety of jams across the seasons. The rooms are beautifully furnished.
Excellent room, close to town centre. Parking convenient.
Owners/staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this little hotel. Next time in Chinon will try to stay there again.
We loved our stay at Nature & Chateau. The apartment was in the centre of Chinon, easy walk to everything. Lovely views of the medieval town from all windows. Very clean and comfortable
The apartment is in a fantastic location, it was charming, clean and thoughtfully decorated. We loved it and we would definitely stay there again if we were in Chinon!
The hotel was in a fabulous location and was very quaint. lovely courtyard to sit and have a drink, but could do with a little TLC. Tina was lovely and very welcoming.
