Puerto Barquerizo Moreno is a great center of San Cristobal...
Puerto Barquerizo Moreno is a great center of San Cristobal where you encounter sea lions on the beach along the main street. It is also full of charming restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops where prices are more reasonable than Santa Cruz.

I enjoyed walking in direction to Bahia Tijeretas, Playa Baquerizo, Playa La Loberia, Las Negritas view and also to the local mine near the airport. The evening / dinner in The Pier restaurant was excellent. The afternoon trip to El Junco volcano, Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado was not worth the money, although swimming near Playa Puerto Chino was nice.

I came for a volunteer trip during which we did the 360 boat...
I came for a volunteer trip during which we did the 360 boat tour (snorkeling in 3 locations) and a trip to the highlands together (2 separate days). I stayed 3 extra days alone, which is either not enough or just enough depending on what you want to do. I do NOT recommend staying the entire time on San Cristobal because you’ll run out of things to do but I found out too late that a day trip to Santa Cruz is better if you can dedicate 1.5-2 full days (depart a 7 am and return the next morning or afternoon). A same day trip only gives you about 7 hours before you have to return. To go to Isabela requires 2 separate boat trips and at least half a day (not sure about Española but it is currently closed). You can visit all the major beaches in 1-2 days but anything else on the island requires a booked boat trip so if you want to snorkel in every single spot you need to spend probably 5 days minimum. Snorkeling every single day isn’t for me so depending on your interests, plan accordingly.
Except for Playa Mann, most of the beaches are a little far and/or require a hike over lava rocks to access so bring good walking shoes over sandals if you have to pick.
Overall after 3 more days I was bored and ready to leave, but if I had more time to visit the other islands I would probably have felt differently!

The town is compact and convenient for travelers.
The town is compact and convenient for travelers. Only 10 minutes walk from the airport to downtown. Most of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, beaches locate within a 10-15 minutes walk distance. Beaches are full of wild animals such as sea lions, pelicans, iguanas, crabs, and fishes. The climate is quite comfortable. Safe to walk even in night time.

It is a nice, peaceful city. People is friendly and helpful. Local authorities have a good Information Office that is ready to help you to get around. Restaurant Giuseppe is exceptionally good. Sea wolves will be found in every beach and giant Galapagos turtles can be seen in a nursery, designed for conservation. There are nice natural places reachable with a short walk. There are good places for diving and snorkeling.

I liked Playa Mann a lot.
I liked Playa Mann a lot. Very convenient and economical for lunch and coffee. Lots of sea lions which are tame! A great way to get around is to hire a bike......about 15 bucks per day. Great walks and sightseeing via El Centro de Interpretation. This is the starting point for some great beaches and snorkelling.

We were greeted warmly upon arrival and immediately informed about the possibilities for excursions, accessibility, etc.
The room is very large and from the balcony you even have a small view of the sea.
Warm water, air condition and a drinking water dispenser was available at all times.
The breakfast was sufficient and good.
Can't say anything bad about the location either. In a few minutes you can walk to the pier or the beach.
Restaurants, Supermarkets, Bakeries... everything is near the Hotel.
We would like to come back.
Tatiana was excellent, she greeted us with welcome drinks and took us to our room with ocean view, the room was clean, beds were comfortable and it had a balcony with a hammock so it was very relaxing. The hotel was located close to town so you could walk anywhere, but not so close that the noises from town were a problem, the only noises you heard were the waves and the sea lions. Breakfast was very good, the person that served it was excellent as well. Best hotel in we have stayed in the islands.
The hotel was great, ir was located very close to the pier, the breakfast was super good and when we had to travel to another island and we had pur breakfast payed for everyday they pack a box meal for your trip on boat pr plane to another island.
Of you come from the continent you can bring your water milk, yogurt or anything you like because the rooms have small refrigerators. And every room has a built In safe no cost for your valued items
This is a lovely apartment managed by Anita and Daniel. Thank YOU so much for coming to pick us at the airport.
Our stay at La Casa de Amelia was lovely! This is a clean property. Although a bit far from the beach, we preferred it as it was in the residential area and gives a feel of living in a neighborhood.
Our NewYears @ San Cristobal @ La Casa De Amelia was memorable for us.
First of all, the owner, Pepe is an absolute asset to the world. The universe is so much better that he is in it. If you get a chance, talk to him because he's a fascinating guy. He speaks English quite well, and you can tell that his hotel is run with love. This is more or less a backpacker place. The beds are comfortable and there's a kitchen you can cook if you need.
The large bathroom was a nice surprise. Beautiful view from the room. Helpful service. No problems with small ants (which we had encountered at another San Cristobal hotel). Great location, easy to get to local restaurants and the pier. Taxis were almost always quickly available on the street just below. And, the hotel would be happy to call one for you if needed.
The breakfast and location were good. If I were to go back to San Cristóbal I would stay at a hotel. We stayed there because our other family booked that site. If you are just looking for a place to sleep, shower and eat breakfast at for a decent price, then I would recommend this place. The view we had was of an empty trashed lot. I was thankful they had AC.
Located only two blocks from the beach, this hotel feels very comfy and friendly. It has a super cute courtyard with some hammocks to hang out in and also includes a small kitchen and refrigerator should you want or need to store and cook food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Outdoor area to hang wet clothes and rinse off after the beach.
The location is unique, 1 minute walking distance to a supermarket, you can find most necessary items there. 5 minutes walk to the seaside where there are many restaurants and cafes. The hotel design is amazing, it’s not only a hotel but an art. The boss and his staff are very friendly.
The room is very big with many windows.
This place is perfect. The hosts, the room, the food, the bed and the location. You leave the hotel and 2 minutes later you are on a beautiful sandy beach with sea lions and iguanas. When you get hot there is a restaurant with nice food and drinks. The hosts are the nicest people and very knowledgeable.
Overall disappointing and not a place to recommend. While the breakfast staff were friendly, the management was not at all. The rooms don't feel private and the design of the hotel is strange - beware the glass bridge over the pool which is very slippery. There are certainly better options in town.
Breakfast was lovely and made to order. The hotel is beautifully landscaped with a sparkling pool which was a wonderful bonus. The family who runs the hotel is very nice :)
Lovely hotel, good value for booking in advance in San Cristobal. Room had everything we needed. Nice little box of amenities provided on bed (shampoo, conditioner etc).
We had a great time staying at the hotel. The host was very kind, the breakfast was very good with an amazing panoramic view of the whole city. Highly recommend.
This place is unique and really perfect to enjoy Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. This hotel is really charming, incredibly well decorated and the view is amazing !
