I have stayed in Sydney multiple times; while my last 2 visits were only overnight, solo trips, I had a much longer visit with my family (2A & 2C) in 2023.
My 2023 trip was one of my favourite family holidays. There is much to do as a family, a couple or alone. The amount of sightseeing is incredible! My husband and daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Harbour Bridge Climb. The Taronga Zoo was amazing (we caught a Ferry to Manly from Circular Quay to do some sightseeing, then got an Uber to the Zoo), I have certainly been to a fair share of zoos in the past but this one was exceptionally clean, easy to get around, and an overall fun experience! The ferrys are great to catch and a memorable experience, especially if you get a seat on the top deck. We did a lot of walking that trip, and despite having children aged 8 & 9 at the time, they managed the footpaths well. Circular Quay is an absolute must-see.
I have taken the trains on my last 2 solo trips, and it was very easy, and I always felt safe; I recommend using an app or looking up a website though to check train numbers and times. If you don't have an Opal card (like me), that is not an issue because you can use your phone or bank card to tap and go. Sydney has some great, diverse suburbs to visit, offering many cultural experiences. I recommend travelling around via private car where possible if you want to travel out of the city to check out the beautiful suburbs, Bondi Beach, etc. if you don't feel like using public transport (which could become very expensive). We did not drive in the city (apart from when we arrived in Sydney or went to other suburbs to sightsee). However, we did use Uber, which was a great option.
Highly recommend visiting Sydney!

So much to do and see.
So much to do and see. Catching trams and trains are easy and cost effective. Catching water ferries to locations is also easy and cost effective. So many restaurants, pubs and cafes for places to eat. You can wonder around Circular Quay and get on and off ferries to all sorts of desinations.

Sydney is one of my favourite places to visit.
Sydney is one of my favourite places to visit. The harbour right in the centre of town is definitely a beautiful backdrop. The cruise ships dock right in the centre of the city - not many places in the world that can happen! Its just a stunning outlook and such a nice vibe.
My recent visit was a little disappointing though - the tramways are still being built after so many years!!! and this is so disruptive, not to mention an eyesore.
I also noted that the streets were dirtier than I've seen in a long while. Such a shame that people don't appreciate such beautiful street scapes. The amount of litter was more than normal and quite sad. Hopefully it was just bad timing and next time will be better.

We don't fit the "young people" criteria.
We don't fit the "young people" criteria. However young-at-heart for two seventy-year olds. Prepare to wear comfortable walking shoes when you explore the downtown Sydney area. Download online info of available bus stops or ferry trips to prevent excessive walking. There is lots to see and shops to visit along the bay area. Riding the ferry from our hotel near Mossman Bay to the Sydney Opera House was a breeze. It's a simple swipe of your credit card to get a ferry ticket. Easy directions at the kiosk outside the ferry stop to purchase tickets. We lucked into beautiful springtime weather but I'd suggest frequent hydration stops. Our goal was to see the matinee showing at the Sydney Opera house - be advised there are tons of steps to climb up but accesible elevators and escalators are available. We chose the steps and survived. Sydney opera house has comfortable seating and there are bistros inside for nibbles or a drink. Ladies - bring a small purse as large handbags or back packs will be scanned and must be cloaked. This is a security measure for everyone's safety. If your a Sarah Brightman fan - you won't be dissapointed in her performance in "Sunset Blvd." She's amazing!
Parking efficient; check-in very professional; the room was very comfortable and bigger than most hotels. The combination of the heritage and the way it has been modernised makes it a pleasure to come “home” to. My fathers office was in the building when it was a government location in the 1960’s. We have stayed there before and we will be back.
Location at the airport suited me for good access to the places in Sydney that I needed to go to for a day visit. 15 min walk from the Domestic Terminal. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was clean and everything worked properly. Breakfast buffet was very good and consistent with this type of breakfast provided at hotels.
Brilliant hotel that offers an entire studio flat in the heart of CBD. A short walk to the tram, high street and Darling Harbour. Very well positioned but very quiet. Fantastic amenities. Felt like a home from home.
Very close to the airport as we were flying overseas early the next morning. Also close enough to shops, hotels & eateries. Rooms were small but spacious enough for 2 people and we were only there for a short while
