We don't fit the "young people" criteria.

We don't fit the "young people" criteria. However young-at-heart for two seventy-year olds. Prepare to wear comfortable walking shoes when you explore the downtown Sydney area. Download online info of available bus stops or ferry trips to prevent excessive walking. There is lots to see and shops to visit along the bay area. Riding the ferry from our hotel near Mossman Bay to the Sydney Opera House was a breeze. It's a simple swipe of your credit card to get a ferry ticket. Easy directions at the kiosk outside the ferry stop to purchase tickets. We lucked into beautiful springtime weather but I'd suggest frequent hydration stops. Our goal was to see the matinee showing at the Sydney Opera house - be advised there are tons of steps to climb up but accesible elevators and escalators are available. We chose the steps and survived. Sydney opera house has comfortable seating and there are bistros inside for nibbles or a drink. Ladies - bring a small purse as large handbags or back packs will be scanned and must be cloaked. This is a security measure for everyone's safety. If your a Sarah Brightman fan - you won't be dissapointed in her performance in "Sunset Blvd." She's amazing!

    Lots to see and do.

Lots to see and do. Must dos: A visit to the Sydney Tower Eye, Harbour cruise on a Sydney Ferry or Cat. If you are staying a long period i.e. 3 days or more, then a recommended must-do is a train trip to the blue mountains and visit Scenic World. Public transport around Sydney is very frequent you don't need a timetable. Just turn up and Go. And don't forget to take a ride on the Underground Metro driverless trains. You can view out the front of the train as it travels through the tunnels and stations.

Amazing scenery and the harbour is worth a ferry ride.

Amazing scenery and the harbour is worth a ferry ride. Darling Harbour, Manly and Watsons Bay are a must. Historic buildings with information posters outside are really interesting and if you just want to do your own walkabout. Transportation options are great and affordable. Opal card is worth it. Huge variety of restaurants which cater for all $$$? The Rocks is worth a trip. Could spend a few days or a few weeks in Sydney and still want to go back for more. If you don't like crowds, go during the week and check the calendar for what's on, as there are often festivals somewhere in the Sydney. area.

Sydney is beautiful but beware that the room advertised a harbour view which was not the case. An extremely large tree was right outside my window. Therefore, it should be advertised as 'harbour glimpse' or alternatively 'obstructed harbour view'. Not worth the money spent.

    Its ok.

Its ok. I only flew from Melbourne to Sydney for the Alphonse Mucha art exhibition.. which was excellent. The weather was excellent and the city is very walkable but also has a convenient and on-time public transport hub. Easy train ride from the airport.. about 15 mins to Central Station. There are numerous galleries that are free to walk into, only paying for special exhibitions. The first view of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House are always breathtaking an something no-one should miss out on. The night life is fun and the numerous restaurants/cafes offer heaps of cultural variety. I stayed near Central Station and while the majority of cuisine was Thai, I did manage to find some great Chinese places for dinner while the Thai places actually did amazing Aussie style breakfasts like scrambled eggs with zucchini fritters.

Loved this boutique hotel and will definitely stay there next time I'm in Sydney. I normally stay at luxury hotels in the CBD for work but I enjoyed this stay far more. The room was clean and really comfortable. It was super quiet at night time even tho the hotel its on Oxford St and the staff are really friendly. They have an area downstairs where you can make a coffee and help yourself to a yummy pastry or two in the morning. Thank you Mrs Banks Hotel :)

Loved the location. No problem for us with noise from within the complex or surrounding venues over the weekend. Comfortable apartment with everything you need. Included breakfast was lovely. Host friendly, easily contactable and very willing to help. Apologetic for mistakes. Affordable accommodation option compared to hotels in the area.
