Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania.
Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania. A gorgeous sandstone convict built bridge, colonial buildings, the old Richmond Historic Gaol, the Rivers Arm Hotel. The walk along the river is lovely and lots of happy ducks. Crafty shops. Well worth a visit. Wish I had stayed longer.

The Richmond area had a lovely village atmosphere and worth staying a night or two. Australia's oldest bridge, quality cafes - Czegs, Richmond Arms for pub food and great little shops - a lovely town.

For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney and Melbourne, all of Tasmania, is a breath of fresh air. We flew into Hobart early in the morning and went straight to Richmond. Automatic relaxation. All you need to do is walk up and down the main street. There are a coffee, shops, restaurants, bars, antique shops. The opening and closing hours are a little unpredictable and no matter what time of year you will need summer and winter clothes because once the wind comes, it’s cold.

So many beautiful historical buildings, picture perfect postcards everywhere you look! Old Richmond Gaol was an interesting tour too. Easy to walk around town and we had a delicious meal at the Richmond Arms.
Really nice 2 night stay, Sharon was great, awesome breakfast provided, fresh hot home made bread that was fantastic, jams, fruit, yoghurt & eggs. Close drive to Richmond Town Centre, nice place for lunch or afternoon tea, best to do a shop at Sorell & cook at the Farmstay, you will see the odd animal roaming the farm, peaceful stay, lots of beautiful wineries to visit , local farming of cherries & other fruits you can purchase. Great stay overall, the whole family really enjoyed our stay, thank you Sharon.
The historic cottage was a lovely oasis, pretty as a picture, clean and beautiful inside. Everything for a comfortable stay was provided including fresh little vases of flowers. Frome the large windows there were views over the farmland and the location is very handy for sightseeing around Richmond and the Eastern Bays. The wood heater was a real bonus and the cottage stay was a highlight of the trip.
Working farm with sheep, horses, chicken and maltese dogs. The kids loved it, we had lots of space in our room which still had the 70s / 80s style decor. Worn, but clean. Old childrens books at dinner room. Food came quickly, and wine glasses were poured to the brim. Scrambled eggs, tea and toast for brekkie with OJ from Woolworths. Nothing fancy, very unpolished but with heaps of charm.
The Chalet was the perfect couples retreat. Beautifully furnished, cosy and comfortable. Very French country chic style. Perfect place to return to after long days exploring the beautiful surrounding areas.
The garden was tranquil and private. An easy walk into Richmond so perfect location.
The hosts were so friendly and accomodating whilst ensuring the utmost privacy for guests.
Owner was friendly and helpful and had switched on the heat before we arrived so the place immediately felt cosy. Loved the decor - very comfortable and the antique furnishings were lovely. The facilities were excellent and would support a longer stay. Brilliant location on the main street of Richmond. Would definitely return for a longer visit if we return to Tasmania.
The place is beautifully furnished and well setup with everything and more. The spa is a great addition and a treat in the evening over a cider from the supplied selection in the fridge. The place is close to vineyards and cherry orchards while also walking distance to the Richmond bridge. This was a great place to stay for our last couple of nights in Tasmania.
Quirky old manor just out of Richmond on a farm. A lot of character and old charm. Good value for a night while exploring area. Didn’t dine at the manor but others told us it was a beautiful home cooked meal served by the owners. Go with an open mind, the owners are charming and doing their best, it would not be an easy place to maintain. We enjoyed it.
Cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy. Great water pressure and shower. Beautiful evening. Sun pours into cottage. Continental breakfast provided. Hostess was very gracious and friendly. Offered us some seasonal fruit from her garden. Would highly recommend this Cottage. If we come back to Tasmanian, we will for sure stay here again!
The location was wonderful, just a short walk to the center of Richmond.
The accommodation was beautifully appointed with all your needs provided for. The gardens were lovely.
The breakfast was amazing with wonderful homemade pancakes, fresh berries and fruit, yoghurt, toast, butter and jam.
Daisy Bank Cottage is an absolute beautiful place to stay.
The owners of the property are very friendly and welcoming.
I would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a homely farm stay with an amazing little town called Richmond just seconds away.
We really enjoyed our breakfast basket each day; especially the lovely warm home-cooked bread. The location was ok - only 3km from Richmond township. Everything we could have asked for in terms of appliances and cooking facilities were available at hand.
Comfy bed with a clean room. Shared shower and toilet were clean and functional. Perfect set up if you just want to sleep, shower and toilet. Excellent lunch and dinner available at the hotel which was very good value for money and good quality.
Best location in town. Fantastic setting on property. Good privacy and very comfortable facilities. Complete breakfast supplies including fresh home made bread delivered. Clean and excellent value with breakfast supplies included.
The hotel is very central in Richmond, the building was beautiful on the outside and it was interesting sleeping in such an old building. The bed linen were clean and the bed was comfy.
Our room was comfortable and warm. The location was great, right in the centre of Richmond, but still quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower was a great size.
