There is a lot to see and do and not just the beach. Great variety of shops and events to suite people of all ages. A lot of road works which hinder travel but when complete, should enable better transit times and accessibility.

The city is highly popular among tourists and offers a wide range of cafes and restaurants. However, I found the prices to be quite high. Nevertheless, the customer service in these establishments surpasses that of Sydney. One of the highlights of my trip was strolling along the beach every morning and evening, enjoying the stunning views. Unfortunately, there were limited Uber options available, and booking one often required waiting for at least 10 minutes or more.

We stayed on a beautiful, reasonably quiet, part of the coast. We had the beach right in front of us and everything you could need within walking distance or a quick drive or ride. The Gold Coast is what you make of it and we had a beautiful relaxed couple of days with great food from The Collective Palm Beach, nice coffee and lunch from House of Hubert, Tugun, amazing fresh Italian for lunch from Tommy's Italian, Currumbin and fantastic cookies and breaky from Custard Canteen, Tallebudgera. I would not choose Tugun Tavern for dinner again, food was overpriced and lacking in quality. Staff were friendly though.

We loved Broadbeach.
We loved Broadbeach. Our accommodation was perfect - close to the beach but quiet and just a 10 minute walk to the bustle of Broadbeach Central. A great atmosphere there with plenty of dining options and a large supermarket. We didn’t need a car as taxis were cheap. We found an amazing cafe called Banksy’s close to our apartment and went every day for breakfast. Lovely staff and great food and coffee. It was a dream holiday, just too short!
A great hotel with great pool facilities for the entire family. Buffet breakfast was fabulous for the kids with plenty of variety. All the staff members except one were fantastic, particularly Christian at the concierge and Michael, the manager. The room was nicely presented with great facilities. Comfortable bed with clean sheets. The whole hotel smelled lovely and the doormen were superbly attentive and polite. I definitely recommend their high tea and dining at their restaurants.
The valet staff were excellent - dropping the car off was a breeze. I travel extensively and stay at many 4 & 5 star hotels and it was on the basis of the Star Grand being 5 star that my booking was made. compared to other 5 star hotels I have stayed at recently, The Star Grand is living on past glory. The room was very dated. The covered Walkway from the hotel / casino to the convention centre and across the road from Broadbeach is very convenient (especially in the rain).
Fantastic value for money. Great view, clean and spacious units. Very helpful staff and great location.. Much better than our previous accommodation and was cheaper per night.
Probably the best value accommodation we've stayed in, in a while.
Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay and the 180 degree view from our unit could be enjoyed both inside and out.
Thank you for a wonderful stay..
Will definitely stay here again when visiting the Gold Coast 🥰
I booked a twin room as we were on a budget and it was cheaper than a double - it came with a KS bed in a bedroom and a single bed in the loungeroom.
It was really clean, comfortable and quiet, and also way more spacious than we anticipated - even had a six seat outdoor setting on the balcony big. All that and it was the cheapest accom on the Gold Coast :-) Of note - the room rates were cheaper through Booking.com than the best price directly through the hotel.
We loved our stay here in an ocean view room. The apartments a huge - big rooms and lots of space for a family of 4. We love the location - it was right across from the beach, a short walk into the heart of Broadbeach or you could walk the opposite way and walk to Surfers along the boardwalk. There were some great coffee shops nearby and a food store. The bowls club across the road was fun for some barefoot bowling. We will definitely be back!
Spacious, spotless, spectacular views. Step straight out of the hotel onto the beautiful beach, no roads to cross, great with 2 children in tow. In the evening the hot spa was a great way to relax after a big day out, the kids loved it! Our apartment hadn't been refurbished as some of the other apartments had, but it was still really comfortable and very lovely. For our family it is the absolute best place to say on the Gold Coast.
Every aspect of this house was ideal. We all very much enjoyed this supreme 5-star hotel like experience with confortable and polished furniture. Furthermore, the convenience of communication with the pleasent host and her hospitality exemplary. In addition this house's location is perfectly suited for a relaxing holiday in both Brisbane and Gold Coast.
This is an outstanding place to stay at the Gold Coast. The Moroccan theme is tastefully integrated into all aspects of the apartments. The fittings and furnishings are exemplary. We were fortunate to obtain a significant reduction at an off-peak time, otherwise it's merely a question of whether one can afford it. If so, it would be difficult to beat.
Booked a last minute, 1 night trip just to visit family holidaying in the area and was so pleasantly surprised that I plan to bring my family back. The resort is lovely. Modern, straight across the road from a stunning beach, and with parking and breakfast included I don’t know why anyone would stay on the Gold Coast itself.
Location. Fantastic views of ocean. Proximity to beach, restaurants, supermarkets, public transport. Very helpful manager. Cheaper than most apartments beach side on the Gold Coast. A nice touch was the ability to store luggage and use the pool even after checking out. Very useful for guests with late flights.
Staff Daniel is extremely helpful and friendly. He is the best hotel staff in our 14 days holiday (we stayed 7 hotels/apartments). I wrote this comment for him. He understood family needs and would love to provide what he can do at his maximum. I feel I have been looked after.
we loved the different pools and also the games room.
The staff was the friendliest on the gold coast
The room was big
It was hard to drag my family away they will miss the hotel the most out of the whole trip
Fantastic hotel all round & lovely staff. Onsite cafe is so cute & tasty. Room was amazing - spacious, modern & comfortable. Excellent parking. Close to beach & Broadbeach centre.
Great Location, cheap and cheerful hotel. Your get what you pay for everything was ok and good value for the money our room could do with a new couch really
