Location of the Hotel was really good. (It was a mistake I made to stay) as my friends husband has a sore leg but hurt it more playing bowls so it was very difficult for him to negotiate the stairs. I also didnt realize that their room had a bath/shower which also made it harder for him to negotiate. I did ask them if they were happy to go to the Exchange Hotel as you had stairs and they didnt think it would be a problem.

Rooms were very nice. BBQ and pool area was fantastic
Broken Hill (for me) Female married in her 60's. I love broken Hill. I dont know why really but it gets me. We drove out to the Sculptures while our husbands played bowls. They were fantastic. (second time) Yes you have to pay and need a credit card. $10 and I think $7.50 for seniors. Once you enter the park you can go 2 ways. Yep we took the wrong one. Left you go to an area where you can walk through the bush, have toilets, BBQ area and family friendly. You can also walk to the Sculptures long stretch for us up hill. Hot (in June) I hope they rectify the signage entering the Park as on the way out ON THE BACK OF ONE SIGN IT HAD DRIVE ACCESS TO THE SCULPTURES. Very poor information after you have walked up to the Sculptures and could have driven. Pro Art's art really good even if you aren't into his style. The Big Picture in town fabulous. Bells Cafe south Broken Hill a walk back into the past. Very Busy but worth the wait. Didn't get to see the Flying Doctors but have been and will definitely go next time. Please leave a little donation in the cylinder. The outback need you. LOVE LOVE LOVE Broken Hill. What would I avoid.....nothing.

Excellent tourist town with lots to see and do.
Excellent tourist town with lots to see and do. Cafes and Restaurants (not the hotels) need to take into account public holiday opening times as many visit during holidays and expect to eat out for breakfast and/or coffee. Staff rates are expensive but even on a rotational basis amongst the business owners, public holiday to public holiday will guarantee a full house and good income for the effort on the day. Good variety of accommodation and friendly locals.

We visited Broken Hill for three nights as a learning experience for out 10yo grand-daughter. There is lots to see and do - specially recommend: Outback Astronomy; Historic Daydream Mine; Royal Flying Doctor Service; Pro Hart Gallery; Menindee Lakes area, especially Historic Woolshed and drive out to Burke and Wills campsite; Living Desert National Park especially sculptures; Albert Kersten minerology and geology museum; Silverton, especially Mundi Mundi lookout and the cemetery; Block 10 lookout and Miners Memorial. You should get a 4WD vehicle to access all areas.

We stayed overnight only as a stop on a longer journey.
We stayed overnight only as a stop on a longer journey. From what little we saw, Broken Hill is steeped in mining history and pioneering in Australia. It's a clean and tidy town with good facilities and quite a lot to see. We intend to go back when time allows.
I have stayed in many hotels and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for travelers to Broken Hill. The room was beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. It was quiet, bed was comfortable, facilities were good, pool and lovely lounge and sitting room. Great balcony to sit and enjoy a cuppa and look over Broken Hill. Close to main street and centre of Broken Hill. Cath the owner went out of her way to ensure my stay was very pleasant.
One of the best self contained apartments I've stayed at, would definitely stay there any time I was in Broken Hill. Extremely comfortable, all the creature comforts of home, including a guest laundry. Great location to explore the region, quiet neighborhood, within easy reach of city centre and supermarket.
Clean and welcoming, comfy bed, modern bathroom, complete kitchen and all utensils to make it a home away from home. Excellent.
This is the 3rd cheap motel I have tried in Broken HIll in the last couple of months, and it is the best of the bunch. So I guess it is my regular now. It is a few blocks from the centre of town, but if you are just driving through and want a bed for the night, what do you care if its not in the middle of town? (there is a RSL style restaurant 5 minutes walk away).
You could do worse; I have done worse in BH a few times!
The design of the hotel meant that it felt safe and was quiet from street noise, with the interior courtyard giving your car security too. While the property is as old as others that are similar it is very well maintained and had been cleaned well with a comfortable bed. Compared to another motel that I went to first - with a sagging mattress, a lamp that didn’t work and grim lighting - the price is good for broken hill.
The location was very quiet, 14 kms from the Broken Hill township.
The food at the pub, was very good (especially the pizza!)
We loved the outdoor back patio, and the amazing view from there, and same view from the bathroom window.
The Outback Astronomy centre is conveniently 8 kms up the road. The Night under the Stars experience was great.
The Resorts powered camp area looked immaculate.
Staff were considerate of the late time of arrival due to a very long day driving to Broken Hill. The staff, location and facilities were as expected for such a remote western NSW town. I would recommend the Sturt Motel to travellers or workers needing larger rooms with cooking facilities.
Beautiful property that really taps into the heritage of Broken Hill. Well stocked with everything one needs for their stay. Nice and quiet location. Super friendly and helpful hosts. And best of all - pet friendly!
Lovely service, the hotel is nothing flash but the bed was very comfortable and having a restaurant onsite that served absolutely delicious food (I have NEVER seen a scotch fillet so big, and it was very tasty too!)
The hotel was great, super friendly staff, super clean, and a great location. I'd recommend to anyone wanting to stay, the price was great for a 3 single bed room. They even provided clean linen each day!
The house has everything you would need for a stay in Broken Hill. It is roomy and the air conditioning and television are great. The kitchen is well equiped and there are lots of little extras provided.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was good enough to spend the night in. The location is super convenient- walking distance to the main street with all pubs, bars and hipster shops
The fact that it was pet friendly!! Thank you so much this is very important as we are travelling with a French bulldog!! Location was great so close to the pub where we were having dinner!!
Great staff,Comfortable accommodation the pool was Amazing ,clean room ,fridge,Air conditioning tea coffee milk, very self contained, Shower and bathroom in general was very acceptable..
The cabins are fully equipped and extremely spacious and clean the staff are also very friendly and do a great job helping with anything you might need definitely recommend staying here
