Great restaurant. Both food and location are excellent.. Rooms are a bit 'tired looking' and the wifi is terrible! But its a nice hotel and very convenient.

Gmunden is an amazing undiscovered place which deserves a larger tourist crowd than it currently has.
It is the best place to stay in Salzkammergut as it allows easy access to all attractions in the region, but still this is a town and not a village.

Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Gmunden lacks a decent 4/5 star hotel. There are a couple which are adequate 3 stars.

Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds.
The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing.
There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake.
Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people.
Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions.
We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

Amazing lake town, with a special sea-lake architecture. Small but charming and the locals are very friendly.
The town offers many activities such as: an electric boat ride on the lake, a cable car that leads to the mountain above the lake, from where there is a fantastic view of the glaciers and the Alps.

The Esplanade Hotel in the City Center is a disaster (including a pizzeria there) - go to the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb (Croatia) and see what the service and luxury is. We left the day before, this is a city of old people….
Perfect location by the lake. Lets you enjoy swimming in the lake whenever you want. Exceptional breakfast. I am vegan and the staff went extra mile and served a special vegan breakfast for me every morning, on top of the generous buffet that is also available. I was super pleased having my coffee with the almond milk :))
They also have a convenient parking free of charge, and we also used the bike garage to store our bikes. Everyone is super friendly and professional. I think it's the best choice in Gmunden, so book now :)

We originally booked one night and decided to stay 3 nights.
This is a traditional hotel (with all the positive values of tradition)
The room we had was big and very comfort. Separate section for sleeping and separate area for sitting and relaxing. In addition we had a terrace overlooking the lake

It was a joy to stay where the staff felt genuine friendly, welcoming and helpful. It has only been open for four weeks but their enthusiasm was infectious. The hotel is centrally located and very quiet, the beds comfortable and the rooms clean, light and airy. The food is great too. We didn’t have a problem parking - there is also another car park a short distance away but room to unload and check-in if you arrive late.
I only stayed one night at the hotel but everything was great. I was warmly welcomed at the check-in, the process was easy and smooth and i received all the information i needed. The room was spacious and clean and most importantly very quiet.
Breakfast was fantastic, not too big but with great quality and just what i needed. Next visit in Gmunden i will definitely stay in this hotel.
The apartment is located in a quiet part of Gmunden, so you do not feel like it is in the town. But everything is so close, so we were surprised when in the evening of our arrival went to the old centre and saw the tram. Shops are 4 min drive. The owner is a lovely women, gave us summer cards and advice where we could go. The apartment is spotless clean and has everything you might need.
The location was excellent, just at the main square. You can reach to the hotel by tram in 5-10 minutes from Gmunden train station. The restaurant was decorated authentic and so nice. The room was cozy and heated so well. The balcony with the lake view was amazing. The staff was welcoming, kind and helpful. I will definitely come back again during spring time with my husband.
Everything about this hotel was excellent. The team was very kind and accommodating. The hotel has been renovated recently and is more modern than most big hotels, yet maintains its small town feel and culture. The room was extremely comfortable and furnished to smallest details. We had a great experience and would recommend it to everyone who is visiting Gmunden.
Location is superb, right in the center. Everything is within walking distance. The room was clean, the host and the staff were very nice. In case you don't speak german, they speak english. There's a private garage for the guests, just enter straight from the main street and ignore the "traffic prohibited" sign (it doesn't apply to the hotel guests).
Absolutely top family-owned hotel directly at the sea, with a beautiful view onto the lake, the mountains and the city of Gmunden. Staff is very friendly and helpful, they even took care of our special request, some gluten free bread. We will never forget our stay here and will definitely come back again for a longer period.
We loved having lots of space after staying in hotels. We enjoyed using the outdoor grill and well-equipped kitchen. Love the way the owners fixed up this former tavern! It is unique and very tastefully decorated. The lake and restaurants are within walking distance. The sauna was a nice treat at the end of each day.

The location is great, very easy to get around and very near the tram station. I liked the historical part of the hotel, that a lot of kings and queens have been guest there.
