The exceptional appearance of the property which offered a fascinating blend of restored and unrestored historic features. The gardens were beautiful and the staff both friendly and very professional.

Nice large room with charming views. Temperature was just right and the bed was super comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were excellent with plenty of fresh milk provided. Having continental breakfast provided already in the room was novel but suited my needs just fine.

A wonderful historic property carefully restored especially by the Victorians. The garden has been recently replanted with great thought. The furniture is a botch of styles and era but has a period feel. The room was very comfortable with good quality bedding and linen. The staff were friendly and efficient.

A stunning, luxurious and beautiful hotel. Quality and stylish interiors to a Tudor style - bright coloured tapestries and carpets, delicate ceiling and wall murals. Exposed stone walls and fireplace with deep window sills. Contemporary bathrooms with all mod cons. Clearly no expense spared in the latest renovations.

The cottages are lovely and tranquil and have all the feature you need for a great stay. There is on site parking for vehicles for each of the cottages and there are areas outside where you can sit and relax if it is the right time of year or you wrap up. Communication with the Hosts is spot on and Richard always pops in to give you a welcome and make sure all is ok.

One of the highlights of my trip. Such a lovely night and the staff/room/atmosphere were all spot on. I loved the old turn-key locks and the fireplace in the library- I didn't see any ghosts and had a wonderful night's sleep. The grounds were also extremely well kept and perfect for a walk. The food from the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was first class and served elegantly. I'm so glad I decided to spend a night here.
