Superb location - tucked into a quiet hamlet outside of Kendal. Terrific, easy location for visiting the lakes or the seaside. The cottage is really beautiful, decorated nicely throughout with quality finishes and appliances and one of the most enchanting, captivating views! The bathroom was HUGE and everything was done to a high standard. It was extremely rainy and windy on a couple of days but it was hardly noticeable as the cottage was so weather-tight! Terrific walks nearby, especially Brigsteer Brow with it's remarkable 360 vistas and which my dog loved! We were there over Christmas and there was a lovely treat basket full of local coffees, chocolates and goodies waiting for us, and they had put out a Christmas tree with twinkly lights, which was such a nice, homey touch and made us feel very welcome.

A lovely cottage with beautiful views not too far from Hawkshead then Windermere. Nothing really needed, the property is cosy and homely not an overpopulated spot in the lakes ideal base to explore. We liked it that much we booked a second week.

Such a friendly welcome from Maureen and we felt immediately at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was great too and the location was ideal for our purposes with lovely views over the local countryside.

The cottage is in a beautiful and quiet location. It is well equipped and there nothing that we felt was missing. Plenty of logs for the fires. The beds were comfortable with high quality linen.

The location in general is great for easy access to main towns and shops, to get every day food and essentials, and of course it’s within easy driving distance of many beautiful spots within the Lake District. The countryside location of the property is also very relaxing, with National Trust sites within waking / hiking distance and friendly neighbours.

Bed & Breakfast, both were lovely. The bed was very comfy, slept like a log and the breakfast was a welcome start and set up for the day. The homemade Marmalade on toast was lovely, I would have gladly bought a few jars to bring home had it been available. It was a short walk to the local pub for refreshments, food was excellent and beer refreshing. The cottage was nice and quiet, nice to stop and just listen to nature and the views.

Plumtree House is a beautiful house in an equally beautiful village. The owners are so nice, maureen's home made bread is delicious. We had a lovely spacious room with amazing views across the countryside. Recommend a walk through the village to the Wheatsheaf pub, meal was delicious & massive portion. Staff so friendly & welcoming, even puppa got treats & a bowel if water. Would 100% recommend a visit & stay at Plumtree House. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 😁😁
