Ravenstone Lodge Country House Hotel 3 stars

Keswick

With beautiful views of the Northern Fells, Ravenstone Lodge is 5 miles from Keswick, at the foot of Ullock Pike so you can relax in the conservatory or on the terrace and enjoy some of the best Lake District scenery. The view of the hotel is absolutely stunning! Sadly we are only staying for one night. We have a nice view from our room, and even a surprising sunset view from the toilet! We had dinner before heading to the hotel, but I instantly regretted it because the menu looks attractive and you could sit outside and look at the great view. The breakfast was very nice as well.

Blackbird Cottage

Kettering

Set in Kettering, in a historic building, 24 km from Kelmarsh Hall, Blackbird Cottage is a holiday home with a garden and barbecue facilities. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located 50 km from University of Leicester. A really sweet little cottage in a beautiful village. It has been obviously been newly renovated and the best use made of the space available. Great size bathroom with walk in shower. Good size galley kitchen and a cosy living area. A double and single bedroom upstairs (be aware that in keeping with the vintage of the property the stairs are not for the faint hearted but there is a good sturdy handrail). Clean throughout and with all the usual amenities. Parking to the rear of the property. The highlight has to be the gorgeous cottage garden which is enclosed and was absolute heaven for my two dogs. The host Lee is super friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I would definitely recommend and hope to return for more that two nights next time.
