This was our second time staying at Hanscom’s and we LOVE it!! It’s super dog friendly, cozy, and has everything you need for a relaxing trip! If you stay here, make sure to take advantage of the grill, cornhole, propane fire and regular fire pit that has fire starters, wood and paper to make starting your fire super easy! We plan to make it an annual trip because we love it so much!

Deluxe king room was exactly what was advertised - with sitting areas, huge bed, fridge, microwave and separate space for clothes / luggage. Outside decked sitting area very pleasant. Complimentary tea / coffee with biscuits in Lobby area - very welcoming. Outside appearance does not do this property justice - very pleasantly surprised when we got to our room.

Although a few miles away from Bar Harbor, we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and level of comfort at this out of town motel. Room prices in Bar Harbor, for even basic accommodation, can get ludicrously expensive, but Gallagher's Travels pricing offered way more value than most in town.

The one thing this area will not be noted for is their coffee. Bad to very bad in most places. A decent stop is Sugar Bakery. A Cash only establishment they draw a crowd. But, their food is tasty while their "dark roast" coffee would qualify as an acceptable medium roast. So, it's the best of the least. Don't go to Bar Harbor for Lobster. Go the other direction! Union River Lobster Pot isn't just great. It's incredibly good. Very welcoming Owner and staff. Local ingredients and excellent food. Don't go anywhere else. Trust me.

The only thing we found difficult was that there were no stores or fast food places open in the evening. But this is probably due to the pandemic. If you want any pizza or fast food, you need to buy before 5pm.

this is an awesome area to stay in and close to several areas of interest to see, like Acadia National Park, many lighthouses within 1-2 hours, and don't miss sunset at Cadillac Mountain!!! get there 1.5-2 hours before sunset!! Ellsworth is another small town worth visiting too. You can't go wrong staying in Trenton.
We choose this hotel to be close to Acadia National Park, but change for one in Bar Harbor for the second night. Had we known that this motel was so comfortable and well-located we would have stayed here the 2 nights. When we left,we had a problem with our rental car and the owner helped us will all the calls. He was truly gentle and helpful, even thought we were not staying there. Choose the Acadia Gateaway Motel for your visit to Acadia Park... it's worth it.
The price for the area was really good. A lot of care and attention went into making the cabins a bit more like home and less like a run of the mill hotel. The owner was outgoing ,pleasant and helpful very cute little cabins offer a lot of privacy. Yet , they also have picnic tables , grills and chairs out on each cabin to enjoy the evening cool after a busy day of sightseeing
Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location. Great price and value. Ignore the photos. The hotel seemed a little dated, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very kind and friendly. Plus, the value for staying so close to Acadia but for WAY less than near Bar Harbor would forgive any short-comings you might find with a hotel room.
It was comfortable and clean. It had AC and it is located close enough to Acadia. This places was everything we needed on our trip to Acadia National Park. Our room didn't have a microwave or a fridge, but you can't really beat the price! The host was really nice, and our room got clean every day. Definitely recommended!
This was a good place to crash for the night after visiting Acadia and bar harbor. No frills, outdated, wood paneled motel room but it was clean and air conditioned. Beds and sheets were super clean. I would go back.

We stayed in one of the smaller cottages and had a great stay! The location was great, close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Cottages were super cute and clean, would highly recommend!
The covience of the hotel was great. Its right at the foot of the bridge going into Bar Harbor & Acadia Ntl. Park. Restaurants, cruise boats and the Acadia were all within 10 minutes.
