Great shopping but miss Macy’s. Prices for a Canadian shopper aren’t worth the effort to come to the United States like it used to be. We ate at the Olive Garden and the service was excellent! Jillian, our waitress, was the best waitress encountered on our trip! And the food was their usual wonderful fare!!!

Has a lot to offer with a big city feel.
Has a lot to offer with a big city feel. Lots of restaurants, stores and places to watch sports, movies, cultural events. Not too far from the ocean or places to ski in winter or swim in summer. Lots of great hotels/motels. Bangor even has an international airport that is fairly close and easy to get to. The various Bangor expressways are numerous and easy to get to. The highway department keeps them in excellent condition year round. Bangor even has a casino downtown.

We usually visit Bangor once or twice a year for cross-border shopping. Over the years it seems the number of stores have dwindled. The Bangor Mall has very few shops actually open and no food court left. We will think twice before returning to shop.
We always enjoy dining at Applebee's and had a great lobster roll at Chase's Restaurant.
We did enjoy visiting Stephen King's home and were very pleasantly surprised to find the Cole Family Land Transportation Museum only 3 mins from our accommodations. It is a very well-laid out museum with transportation items from bicycles, sleds and baby strollers to snow ploughs, fire trucks and farm equipment . . . even a pop-up tent trailer from 1925! Well worth a visit!

Breakfast was very well presented in a large dining area (so easy access to tables) with two servers for the hot food (sausages, scrambled eggs). Hotel is a little outdated, but it is very clean and the staff are very helpful.

Kind of hard to GPS but finally got used to it.
Kind of hard to GPS but finally got used to it. Fr Knox is a great tour and Paul Bunyan statue and Steven Kings house. Fun. Traffic downtown was a bit much to find a place to park and eat. Great Irish Bar at a hotel but I can't remember the name of it.

Perfect location for us, close to the highway (we were driving from Nova Scotia to Ottawa via Maine). We chose it over other hotels as it had a pool. Pool is small but adequate for a quick dip (don't expect to do lengths). Room was clean and had everything we needed other than the AC unit was broken. It wasn't too hot and we weren't staying long so not a big deal for us. Reception staff were lovely.
Super clean and comfortable lodgings. The location is slightly set back from the mall area, so my 2nd floor room had greenery out the window and a super peaceful night’s sleep. The bed was comfy and plush. The staff were friendly and helpful; I decided to stay in the area an extra night and they made me a great price, better than anything I could have found online at other area hotels.
Our room was clean and had a microwave oven and fridge, and the bathroom had modern fixtures. The TV picture was the best I have ever seen in a hotel (but I "avoid" the 5-star variety). Excellent value at the time we stayed there at the beginning of July.
The rooms are outdated, but clean and comfortable. The staff is great and they provide a very nice breakfast. Also the complex is conveniently located near an interstate exit with plenty of restaurants and shopping.
