Trolltunga is worth to see but the hike is very long and very hard even for young people that are not necessarily trained but slim and normal active.
The Fjord are just amazing and the scenery can also be discovered by car along the road. It´s even possible to hike up to a glacier. Unique experience since I have never done that before. For people coming from the city it needs to be noted that dinner should be properly planned since everything is closing very early.

Lots of hikes that we didn’t know about when we booked.
Lots of hikes that we didn’t know about when we booked. We hiked trolltunga, which was absolutely amazing. The walk up is not overly challenging but still quite physical! We camped at the top which was very easy to do, and we managed to take some incredible photos when on the rock.
Apartment was big and very clean, high ceiling, big windows, great view!
Exceptionally well equipped kitchen (with dishwasher!, large sink, huge oven, inductive stove).
Large bathroom with floor heating and hot shower.
Bedrooms with table and chairs in each and lots of space for luggage.
Every room has a separate electrical heater, wich works really well.
Great service at hotel front desk, very friendly and helpful staff. All amenities from hotel can be used for extra fee (breakfast, lunchpack, dinner, sauna).
This is an old (read: authentic) hotel in need of an upgrade. Yet, quite comfortable and with all basic equipment. Rooms were clean with a fully renovated bathroom and new furniture. The view over the fjords and its waterfalls was just stunning! The service was very friendly and attentive. There was some noise during the day and night coming from the nearby factory, but it did not prevent us from sleeping. Close to Trolltunga. They have an excellent restaurant with typically Norwegian food that we fully recommend.
What a lovely property, quite nearby to the Trolltunga hike, and the lovely towns of Tyssedal and Odda. We were a group of seven, so one of our party had to sleep in the common room on the large sofa, but it was not uncomfortable and we were happy with the extra linens and pillows provided. The rooms were all comfortable and the supplies provided met our needs. Check-in was very easy, and we were very grateful for that process as we got into town quite late in the evening.
We had an apartment for two nights to use as a base for the Trolltunga hike, and it was ideal. Free parking, good Wi-Fi, easy check in/out. Pretty nice view. Plenty of space to move around - and to dry wet clothes!
Kitchen was well equipped (no toaster but there’s a grill) with a useful supply of salt/pepper/oil and tea/coffee/sugar.
They have a deal with the hotel nearby - a free glass of local cider and 10% off food in the restaurant.
Great location if you are planning to visit Trolltunga. Large apartments, comfortable beds. You can cook your own food, there is a stove and microwave. Heated bathroom floor. It is written that the check-in is until 22:00, we were driving from Bergen, but the road took longer than we planned. The hotel sent a payment link and check in instructions so we were able to check in after 22:00, which helped a lot and reduced the stress level :)
We were there during the low season and very few other guests were present. It is an old hotel with the most amazing staff! They were extremely nice & helpful. The room was nice with everything we needed (I would add a kettle if I were the owner). It is close to the Trolltunga trail so was a great place to stay before our big trip! Breakfast is good with a variety of food to choose from.
Trolltunga Guesthouse was minutes away from the parking lot for the Trolltunga hike, which was extremely convenient. It’s also just a short drive from Odda, a cute town at the base of the fjord. Upon check-in, there were plenty of snacks that guests could buy specifically for the Trolltunga hike, or if you wanted to, it was a quick drive to Odda to visit a larger supermarket.
We were a little concerned because of the latest reviews, but it came out as a pleasant surprise - everything was clean, tidy and well organized. Yeah it's old fashioned, but that gives the whole place rather a stylish charm! We truly felt like in the old days in a good way! They even have a nice terrace with barbecue!
It was pretty cheap; Staff was very nice; If you are here to hike Trolltunga then you are very close and can walk to the start; there’s free parking and a charging station for electric cars. Breakfast was better than expected in such a small cheap place. All in all pretty good value.
Great place to start hike to the Trolltunga - really close to the parking, save a lot of time driving, nice garden to relax after the hiking )). Mini market is just minute walk down the street with big parking. Nice walk along the old road is just great at the evening
Basic but everything was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Nice living area and the beds were soft but comfortable. It was also quiet, so easy to get a good night's sleep. Overall a perfect place for a family to stay when you are hiking Trolltunga.
The views overlooking the fjord are spectacular. The hotel is decent but a bit tired and the photos could have been a bit more honest about its location right adjacent to a very active (at 2 am!) industrial site.Great Breakfast.
Convenient location for the Trolltunga hike.
Very good restaurant in the main hotel.
Good view from a large window and comfortable beds.
Very clean and spacious.
Check in is at the “parent hotel”.
Gorgeous view from the room - easy to get to both Odda and to Trolltunga. Reception staff are super helpful, and helped us arrange taxis as needed during our stay. Highly recommend.
The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, the rooms and the bathroom might need a renovation but all was clean and comfortable. Very professional and friendly staff.
