It was nice to have a wood heater with all the necessary supplies in the middle of the living room. Host provided some stuff that we forgot to pack. Blankets were really warm and cozy for a winter night.

I was very happy with a friendly and helpful hotel reception and a well informed manager. I had been upgraded to a better room at their initiative. Happy with that! And a very good breakfast - much more than I need in the morning. Great location for a ski vacatiion with ski area shuttlebus stopping close by if you need it. You can take your last run all the way down close to the hotel. Good local restaurants and bars very close by - less than a minute out the door. The hotel used to be the local hub before new construction at the resort base was developed. I have skied and arranged many ski trips with friends and colleagues to Hemsedal since 1986, staying at the hotel on several occasions and have many good memories from after ski and dinners at the hotel amongst the other possibilities "downtown" Hemsedal.

You know Las Vegas has The Strip you go and find all the casinos, well Hemsedal also has The Strip, but it is all they have. You can find everything from real estate, clothing stores, grocery store, different restaurant and hotels + gas station. They also have the start for the adventure park as well were you jump on the zip line over the river. You can also take the paths along the river and look at the adventures in the park. Hemsedal I known for the skiing, but you can do things here all year. hikes to Skogshorn or other mountain rages. Enjoy your trip, were it might lead you.

You can walk to most locations but if you use a car you can get to the best hiking spots.

Hemsedal was absolutely beautiful as well as quiet.
Hemsedal was absolutely beautiful as well as quiet. There are some long lines for the surface lift at the very bottom of the mountain but that is to be expected - otherwise I found most lifts had little to no wait. The locals and staff are very kind!
Nice views, good size bed rooms, excellent sauna in the backyard, friendly and helpful hosts. Close to cross-country skiing tracks and short drive to the ski resort. Parking next to the building. Flexible hosts allowing late checkout since there was no one coming the same day we left.
Most importantly - we will consider this apartment for our next visit to Hemsedal!
Great location about 100m from the Trøim sentrum bus stop, which has free transport to/from the mountain. Many bars/restaurants within easy walking distance. Very easy check in process. 6 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment was very roomy with plenty of common space to hangout. Nice balcony with a beautiful view of the mountain. Free parking.
The apartment is quite large and spacious, which makes it great for groups to cook & socialize together. Also, the location was perfect! Only a 5-10 min walk from the slopes, and 5 min walk from apres ski. It was also very nice that the apartment had a sauna which we could use after skiing.
food was great and I actually preferred the food at the earlier place. the other one, the fancy one had meat with potatoes only - rather boring. the fish was amazing tho.
it was great to just leave the place and ski down and then come back straight from the slopes.
Stayed 2 nights end of April and I understand it was the end of the season (staff reminded me that a good 10 times but is it really my problem as a guest…?) but the service of this hotel is simply not on par to the amenities which are first class. Example:
The fireplace 🔥, the Spa 🧖🏾♀️ , the decoration for Christmas, very cozy, pleasure just staying in the lobby. Very close to skirental, ski lodge, everything you need they have. Paintings in the corridors, people who served us.
Stunning views and a lovely old family farm house. Ola and his staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very special place to stay and relax.
About a 20 min drive to the Hemsedal Skisenter, which was spectacular.

We liked this hotel. Style is old fashion, but its nice and cute, beds was comfortable, very warm inside rooms, big sitting area, hotel in the centrum, slopes are close, and ski buss near.
Very nice and comfortable apartment. Plenty of space for everyone, and it was wonderful to have 3 bathrooms. We used the kitchen only for breakfast, but it seemed to be well equipped.
