I spent only 2 nights in Nagasaki and wish I'd had more time. It is a big city with much to see and do. Our ferry to the coal island was cancelled do to windy weather and we were called and refunded which was nice. We spend a lot of time at the museum and found it very interesting. We went to the port, where we saw the Queen Elizabeth boarding and had lunch at a nice Chinese restaurant very close on the 5th floor - very popular! There is a street for shopping for souvenirs very close too!
Nagasaki has much more than I saw and wish I can go again!

Nagasaki is a city full of history and charm.
Nagasaki is a city full of history and charm. I love the scenic view of Nagasaki port. People here are very warm and friendly, and it's a city full of nostalgic vibe. Besides that, Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum has very modern and minimalistic architecture style. I like Champon a lot and have it almost everyday during my stay in Nagasaki.

A beautiful city which has unique history of being exposed to other countries, i.e. China, Netherlands, Portugal / Spain, England while the rest of the country was closed. It is also an important witness and victim of the A-bomb.
Don't forget to enjoy the view from Inasa yama.
Also, it offers various food options - shippoku-ryori can be eaten approximately 4000 per person if it is lunch.
We did not get to go to islands and Shimabara etc this time as well as House tembos....
It is a little hard to access by shinkansen now, but it was worth a visit.

The Night View is one of the best I've ever seen (second only to Hong Kong). We went up on the Rope Way, then discovered there was a Slope Car ascent as well--great for a return trip. The Dejima Wharf was a fantastic place to walk. The food in the restaurants around the city was wonderful. The trolley was fun, too.
first time in Nagasaki and no regrets in choosing this property! we had the BEST and prettiest breakfast! such a good night sleep because the bed was very comfy... well provided bathroom amenities and the staff are very helpful and friendly...
hotel's location is also perfect for all the top sights to visit... it is a stones throw away from the tram stations and beside it is the famous shop selling the castella pastries! yummy!
The massage chairsssss!! They were great and free! Staff were nice. Good experience of staying in a ryokan. Great view of Nagasaki from the bedroom. Good baths. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to/ from Nagasaki station. Breakfast was traditional japanese only, but the staff were kind enough to get us bread upon request.
The hotel itself was really nice. They have a rooftop onsen (separate for men and women as always). There was also a sauna and the option of an inside onsen and outside. The room was spacious. After reading the reviews I asked for a higher up room with a view over Nagasaki. Near to a seven eleven and family mart.
Great access for transport, main station within easy walking distance and trams to visit Nagasaki. Would absolutely recommend the Dormy Inn for its onsen. It is of a very high standard for a chain hotel.
The bed was very comfortable.
The room was a good size for a short stay.
Nagasaki is a beautiful location and therefore any hotel in the location will instantly be in a good spot.
However, the reference to renovations underestimated that there would be no opportunity for natural sunlight.
