Host and property were amazing. Giulio was so helpful, sent very clear instructions for check-in and parking and the property was available to us earlier than our original arrival time when our plans changed. Super easy to check-in with very clear instructions sent on in advance. Safe on street parking right next to the property. Facilities in the property are excellent, everything you could need and more. Very comfortable, with plenty of amenities near by - we visited the archeological park, the beach and took the train into Rome for the day. The airport is only 15 minutes drive. Highly recommend, and hope to have another visit soon!

On second thought, we must add more to our review.

On second thought, we must add more to our review. We asked before booking about the time to get to the airport(for a very early flight), and the reply was "It only takes 15 minutes and we'll show you when you get here." It seemed okay, so we booked. But, in fact, it was 40 minutes, in just regular traffic. And, the cost was by taxi for 37 euros. We had to run through the airport and arrived at the gate with only 10 minutes to spare!! Very stressful and unfair to us. When it said breakfast provided, we had to prepare it for ourselves. Also, the night before, we were told that the little town had several options for purchasing dinner but the options were closed. The place to buy ticket for the bus was closed, so we walked back the 1 km., maybe more, to get back. The hosts didn't seem to think about this. The kindness nature of the hosts made us accept the situation with good humor and we tried to be positive. However, in hindsight, we were disappointed. Although thee accommodations itself and the hosts welcome was fine, we regret to say we cannot recommend booking here.

The owners were a lovely Italian couple who spoke enough english for us all to understand each other. Their home is in a great location that allowed us to walk to the ruins in Ostia Antica and to a place for dinner. I was near Christmas and the home was decorated nicely. Their grandson drove us to the airport, for a charge of course, and we arrived in plenty of time for our flight. We would stay there again, and recommend it to others.

    We stayed one night.

We stayed one night. It was a clean and comfortable place, the staff were helpful and friendly. the transfer to the airport was easy and short. the onsite resturant was good. we did not have time to use any of the other facilities. the included breakfast was a little sparce, just cake, pastry, juce and coffee. the advertised glutin free options were not very obvious, however we did get 2 small packs of very nice busicuts for breakfast, that the waitress found out the back. all in all a nice place for a stop over.

The archaeological site is enormous and slightly overwhelming; 5-6 hours was enough for me, although a second visit would have been good. There are some amazing sites there including mosaic flooring, some of which is unrestored and I was surprised to find it actually underfoot. The cafe in the site served lovely salads and hot dishes, not too pricey. I didn't explore the town but ate at a good bistro for reasonable cost.

My partner and I decided to do things a little different on our 4th holiday destination being Rome by staying on a boat and we were glad we made the choice. The view of the river was glorious while sitting in the lounge and gazing out noticing fish and beautiful swans floating by. Paula and Marko were wonderful hosts easy to get along with and helpful in every way, even their cat was super friendly. Getting on and off the boat was also very easy. If you have been thinking of experiencing something peaceful and tranquil, I suggest do it.

The accommodation is close to the Fiumicino airport so it’s good to stay there when you have an early morning flight. If you go there from Rome, you can take the Cristoforo Colombo train from Porta San Paolo in Rome, it is the Ostia Antica stop and you can get to the accommodation on foot. From the accommodation, you can get to the airport in about 15 minutes. You can ask the staff to call you a taxi which is what we did (it was €35) but I think it’d be better if you called an Uber - you could save at least €10..

We chose to stay 1 night at La Casa di Elio e Italo before our early flight the next morning. We liked its location near Fiumicino airport, as well as being a 2 bedroom apartment. The place is neat, clean, quiet (although its proximity to the airport), nicely decorated. It is minutes walking distance from antique center, restaurants and bars. We also liked communication with Federica the owner, who is responsive and kind. This casa is a great option for people visiting Ostia as well as before/after flights.

This was the first place we stayed at during our trip to Rome. The place was relatively close to the airport and, even though our flight was delayed and only arrived later in the night, we managed to agree on a later check-in time and they picked us up at the airport! The place itself was everything we needed for our first night. But the true recommendation for this place comes from the hospitality of the owners. They went above and beyond with everything to make us feel right at home in Italy!

This is our 2nd stay at La Casa di Gioia and it’s a great little apartment in a lovely little area. I will gladly recommend this apartment to anyone who needs a place close to the airport. You can walk easily to the ruins and there are wondering restaurants nearby. The little area where the apartment is located feels like a movie set. Our family of four was very comfortable with the apartment accommodations. The host is also terrific- great communication!

The host is so helpful. He found a good place to park my car, and I believe the locals helped look after the car ( Belgium hired car) aswell, as the car did not move for the 4 nights we were there. We took the train into Rome central, which is only a 10-minute walk to the station. The area has a lot of history, and the locals are friendly. A supermarket is next to the accommodation. One of the best accommodation rooms I have stayed in. Highly recommended.

Quiet location was excellent for touring ruins and overnight stay before flying out of Rome airport. Host was wonderful, all conducted by WhatsApp, even helped with scheduling cab to airport. Restaurants and store within steps of apartment. Host provided bottled water, coffee and breakfast treats, and even had milk in refrigerator. Very clean and thoughtfully appointed. Air conditioning was great in July heat. Would like to go back for longer stay.

It’s off the beaten path, which is fine after a week in Rome. They are super nice and accommodating….they drove us to the ruins one day, and then provided an airport shuttle for a reasonable cost. They don’t do daily housekeeping so just ask for fresh towels if you need them. The included Breakfast is basically anything you want to order downstairs, not a typical included breakfast, but equally fine. We enjoyed the family run vibe.

We have been here before. It is just a 5 minute walk to the centre of Ostia Antica & 10 minutes to the Archeological Site (closed on Mondays). It is well worth visiting this extensive site - so much to see! The owners are very pleasant & helpful. The journey into Rome does not take long on the train. A 24 hour ticket lets you use trains, buses or trams within the Rome city area.

It is a brand new apartment with first class interior. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The owners are really nice. It is a bit away from Rome city center but there is a trainstation in 500m from there you can travel to the city center for 1.50€ or even better get a day ticket for 7€ where you can travel unlimited the whole day and explore Rome.

Breakfast was optional, mainly cornetos/croissants and coffee, so nice to be able to pay for only what we ate. Pool looked clean. Safe in room was bolted down, unlike several places we stayed. Staff very helpful about local restaurants and setting up shuttle to airport, but $50 for 20 min ride is highest we experienced in Italy or Greece.
