Villa Maria, hotel in Isola delle Femmine

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a pool with a view, mountain view and a patio, Villa Maria is set in Isola delle Femmine.

Villa Maria, was well located, easy to find (with satnav) and the owner met us at the time that was convenient for us. Maria was very welcoming and explained everything well. We travelled with 2 kids 7year old and 4 year old and the apartment was very spacious with more beds than we needed and clean. Kitchen was well equipped as well. The pool was on site, very clean and lovely, one for us to use - no one else was using it. lovely deck chairs provided. The beach is nearby only a short walk through a field and a private entrance.

Villetta Aurora, hotel in Isola delle Femmine

Located in Isola delle Femmine, 300 metres from Spiaggia di Capaci and 18 km from Palermo Cathedral, Villetta Aurora offers a garden and air conditioning.

The villa itself and the large patio garden with an outdoor shower was amazing, I felt like I was staying at my grandma's <3 I especially appreciate the cleanliness of the home on our arrival – I can imagine how much time it takes to clean the huge home and all the furnishings, but it was really so clean everywhere! Even on the frames of the numerous pictures on the walls there was no sign of dust! Next point, surely a matter of taste, but I really loved the antique touch of the home – it felt a bit like a museum at first: with very real-looking pages from La mode Illustrée dating back to 1870s, vintage accessories in a display shelf behind glass, a funny telephone like my great-grandma had and so on. Each room had an air conditioner which is surely a blessing in summer, but we also appreciated it in November to warm up the large reception room. In the kitchen, there was everything you need and even more, also Maria and Anna made sure that the basics were there: tea, coffee, salt/pepper and olive oil. Finally, can't leave unnoticed the warmheartedness of Maria and Anna, amazing hosts, always there at the guests' disposal and super friendly and attentive! Thank you for our little escape from dark November and the pre-Christmas stress!

Isola is a beautiful little town.

Isola is a beautiful little town. The narrow streets are very charming and lovely. Compared to Palermo and Catania, there were much less tourists (we were here in spring) and it was clean, so it was much more cozy and relaxing. The food in the restaurants were delicious and the rocky beach was fabulous. The mountain range behind the town makes an amazing sight from everywhere in the town. There is a fish market every morning in the harbour, well worth a visit, you can see some very interesting sea creatures.

A really welcoming and friendly town, well served with local cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. It also has a good local market every Thursday. The train station has regular trains. The range of beaches and their facilities are very good.

I think that this community is a bit undiscovered at the moment... it is close to the airport, close to Palermo and has everything that you might need. I did not encounter any homeless, panhandlers, hustlers or unsavory residents. Your folks at businesses here may not speak English as much as those in the larger cities like Palermo.

Scruffy and run down Beach resort on the outskirts of Palermo. The beach is mostly rocky though there is a small stretch of sand. There are a number of beach bars along the seafront, most of which looked well past their best. There was lots of litter thrown around. Not really a place to spend quality time, but nevertheless a lot of locals use it, perhaps they don't mind all the litter, after all it's them who have made it as it is.

Great location, ideal as a base to explore this part of Sicily. Easy access from Palermo Punta Raisi Airport (15mins by train...Isola Delle Femmine train station 400 metres from the property). Clean, great views from the communal terrace (There are two apartments, we stayed in the seaview apartment which has its own balcony). Comfortable, great facilities (air-conditioning), washing, machine and ironing. Nice little kitchen, too.

Excellent spot to stay for a night in Isola delle Femmine. Host was responsive, helpful, and patient even though we don’t speak a word of Italian. Room was new, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was just what we needed to start the day, a delicious coffee and a choice from a great selection of breads and pastries. Location was excellent.

This is a very nice hotel. Our room was big and spacious and a good size bathroom. The room was very clean. We had a nice sea view. The breakfast was very nice and a place you can enjoy the views. We spent some time in the lobby where there were various different seats. Next time I want to try the swing seat.
