Hotel Trinacria 3 stars

Hotel in Borgo Vecchio, Palermo

Ideally located in the centre of Palermo, Hotel Trinacria offers air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. This 3-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel exceeded our expectations with its exceptional service and attention to detail. During breakfast, the hotel’s young daughter Giorgia went above and beyond by thoughtfully preparing chocolate and almond chocolate when my husband ordered an Americano and I ordered an espresso. Staff member Maria Autonietia was also incredibly kind. The hotel’s elder daughter Silvia, who served as the daytime receptionist, was always friendly and welcoming. The evening receptionist Olga deserves praise for her spot-on recommendations of delicious and reasonably priced local restaurants. The beautifully decorated central garden added to the charm of our stay. We were truly grateful for the wonderful experience.

Room Of Andrea Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in Trapani City Centre, Trapani

Set in the Trapani City Centre of Trapani, Room Of Andrea is located 1.4 km from Trapani Port and 3.3 km from Funivia Trapani Erice. Everything. Staff at the reception absolutely outstanding, very helpful and with a lot of good advise (go to the Antichi Sapori restaurant!). We liked the spacious room and the bathroom and we had an excellent quiet breakfast. The hotel is located next to a parking place (you pay a few cents per hour) and at the very beginning of Trapani old town centre. We went to see the pool: beautifully located on the top roof, but the weather was unfortunately not the best. Full of things to do around, including the visit to the salt pans and Marsala tasting and a stroll in the old centre of Trapani

Airone City Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in Catania

Offering free WiFi throughout and a summer outdoor pool, Airone City Hotel is in Catania, 4 km from its historical centre and Piazza Duomo. This is one of the best Hotels I lived in because of its high-cost performance, free breakfast, tidy and cozy room as well as its perfect service. They provided a mini-bar which you can not enjoy in other Hotels. Just choose to stay Airone City Hotel if you come from another city or country, a nice Hotel choice would enhance your experience on a trip.

FAQs about hotels in Sicily

An Island of Intrigue

The largest Italian island, Sicily has long been a place of mystery and intrigue, coveted by civilisations. Its Greek history is most evident at Agrigento whose UNESCO World Heritage-listed Valley of the Temples has amazingly well-preserved Greek temples.

Also important to Greece was Siracusa. Archimedes was born here and there is a theatre and necropolis to explore. However, the most spectacularly located Greek theatre is at Taormina. Set on a hill overlooking the glorious Mediterranean Sea, this theatre points towards Mount Etna smoking away in the distance above Catania. Picturesque Taormina is one of the most popular Sicily resorts and down below there are some wonderful Giardini Naxos hotels on the beach, available on Booking.com.

Another resort boasting some of the best Sicily hotels for families is fabulous Cefalù. Home to a lovely beach, this small town is dramatically located at the foot of a mountain. To the north-west are the Aeolian Islands (also known as the Lipari Islands), volcanic islands with plunging cliffs and secret coves.

Back on the main island, the capital Palermo is a seductive mix of amazing architecture and laidback life. Trapani to the west is known for its salt flats, whereas Messina to the east is where trains drive straight onto the ferry to Reggio Calabria on the Italian mainland.
