Very pleasant room on a separate block at the back of the pub. All usual facilties you would expect & in good working order. Bed, although small, was comfortable. Food available in the restaurant was excellent & reasonablably priced. Overall, it would be good place to overnight or even use as a base to explore the surrounding area.

Dowfold House Bed and Breakfast, hotel in Wolsingham

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Dowfold House Bed and Breakfast is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Crook, 26 km from Beamish Museum.

Ample parking was available. The hosts are helpful, considerate, and lovely people to stay with. There are many small touches throughout the house and the room that made me feel welcome, including fresh cut flowers in the room and in the common areas. The breakfast room and separate lounge are beautifully decorated, a pleasure to sit in and enjoy. Breakfasts are superb, better than most and very flexible with the choices on offer, with home-made jams and honey.

Number 7 The Cottage A Rural Retreat, hotel in Wolsingham

A recently renovated holiday home situated in Durham, Number 7 The Cottage A Rural Retreat features a garden. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

We have stayed in many places (not just with Booking.com!) and this was probably the first time we’ve been truly amazed at how the owners have gone truly above and beyond to attend to the needs of people staying. It is a pretty small terraced house, but the care and attention to detail, to layout, decor, atmosphere and so on is truly exceptional.

It has nice scenery and there are plenty of nice walks.

It has nice scenery and there are plenty of nice walks. There are some nice places to visit which are only short drives away. Good places to eat are Coppermine in Crook 6 miles away n also Fir Tree inn about the same distance. The village lacks shops in the centre of the village. There are three places to go for a drink the best been the Charles Atwood.

    Lovely small town.

Lovely small town. The cottage is lovely, close to a beautiful walk alond the river. Wolsingham is a quiet place, dont be surprised to see ducks walking down the small streets! There are two supermarkets close by which stay open late. The bakery, and other shops seem to shut early, around 3.30.
