Superb parkland setting, impressive main halls, extraordinary historical tapestries. Spacious and comfortable room, freshly painted, with a very comfortable bed and reading light. Very welcoming and genuinely cheerful staff. Not your ordinary b and b. An unusual and very lovely pick in a delightful area of the country.

Food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent; it was good to have interesting options for breakfast (shakshuka; smoked trout; etc.) rather than just the usual full English. The room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. There is plenty of parking available.
Ideally located in the heart of the cathedral city of Chichester, Trents offers en suite accommodation, a restaurant, a bar and a terrace. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

Really enjoyed the outdoor pool for daily swim, although changing facilities very basic & rather a trek from the main house.
An evening meal was available, but not taken.
Disappointed in cooked breakfast choice, although cold buffet bits were good.
Comfy room. Helpful staff. Lovely grounds.
Ideal for a quiet escape.
There were 'student activities' happening, but they did not compromise our stay.

THis is a unique and very special place, hard to compare wit anywhere else because it is a beautiful building, run very efficiently but with friendly staff. Breakfast, in a canteen setting, was excellent, the room was fantastic and I loved every minute except for leaving!

We enjoyed the evening meal at The Partridge Inn better than the Selsey Arms.
We were there to visit the Weald and Downland Museum on our 55th Wedding Anniversary on the 29th., so it was very convenient. Had a great day, but very tiring.

Great manor with lots of history…room are very basic and not worth the money. Would only recommend for a day trip without staying at the actual manor. Wouk’s recommend only fkr a visit not a overnight stay

A beautiful location, the freedom to walk in the gardens and parkland is a huge bonus. It is peaceful. My room was great - comfortable, clean and warm. The building itself is fabulous. I didn't leave the site. I ate in the restaurant for all my meals and was impressed by the choice and the different dietary options on offer. Pleasant and efficient staff at reception to answer any questions, likewise the catering staff and the housekeeping staff. I look forward to staying again.

The surroundings of West Dean itself are beautiful although the hotel was disappointing. We had a tiny room and shower and the facilities were very limited. Not what we were expecting. The grounds were stunning but the hotel lacked atmosphere.
Not a hotel, more like a B&B in a stately home. The history, antiques, decor, atmosphere and vibe, if only all hotels/B&Bs were like this. The massive lounge with the huge open fire until gone 10pm each night, you can't build something like that to order. Surrounded by countryside and gardens. I could go on. For a romantic break, you'll find this place hard to beat.
Ground-bean coffee machines in abundance (free to use) and a breakfast well above standard.
If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful, scenic and beautiful place to stay, the West Dean manor house and extensive and gorgeously landscaped gardens and grounds are the place to go. Just need to have a car. Great full breakfast, but must go out for lunch and dinner. Also enjoyed the heated swimming pool. Beds very comfortable. Be warned though, no AC, no TV. Not generally needed, and windows open. Lots of places to explore (by car) for day trips.
The room was tiny and only one person could be in the bathroom at a time. There were no mirrors in the room and the walls were very thin. There must have been student accommodation right next to the room as they were making noises all until the early hours of the morning. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, all a bit dry and stodgy. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. There was no real atmosphere in the hotel although the grounds are stunning.
Beautiful classic building of the 17th century plenty of grounds to walk in, local pub 2 minutes drive away great food, West Dean working Museum 10-minutes drive everything you need for a relaxing weekend loved it. Breakfast was great
Lovely building in the beautiful West Dean Gardens. Very nice staff. Comfortable room with nice big shower and an amazing view. Buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Free access to the park and fantastic marked walks.
Simply stunning inside and out. Beautiful The rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean and beautifully decorated. Very relaxing, you are given the run of the place and you can also explore the famous West Dean gardens.
The location is lovely, so is the pub and the food! My only regret is loitering in Chichester during the day and not heading to West Dean earlier to enjoy it fully. Great size rooms and all very comfortable.
The breakfast was good, a lovely building and friendly accommodating night staff, I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. I would use them again if needed next time.
The hotel was set in stunning grounds with access to all areas. The gardens were exceptional and well worth walking around. The Colleage was oozing history.
