Callow Hall is a gorgeous historic property, the styling is immaculate and immediately creates a relaxing and welcoming environment. We decided to stay in one of the Hives and I’m so glad we did, Rosebay was situated in the middle of the woods next to the hotel and the views of the countryside and bluebells were beautiful and calming. Travelling for Alton Towers this was a lovely little stop for the night before moving on to Alton.
Nice small compact room and lovely cosy little bar area for evening meal and a few drinks.
The food in the bar area was exceptional, though check the timings, the bar was only open from 7pm for food, don't know if that's normal.
Whiston Hall is set in scenic Staffordshire countryside, just a 10-minute drive from Alton Towers. The 19th-century hotel has a leafy golf course, a modern bar area and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Excellent breakfast!
The Royal Oak is situated just out of Ashbourne close to the start of the Tissington Trail and it has a large car park.
The bar menu was excellent and the food was very good (if you want to eat book a table as the restaurant is very popular). If we stay in Ashbourne again we will try to book a table here.
Very comfortable bed.
