Lavender Retreat with Private Hot Tub, hotel in Upper Hulme

Offering a garden and mountain view, Lavender Retreat with Private Hot Tub is situated in Upper Hulme, 16 km from Buxton Opera House and 25 km from Alton Towers.

We loved the location of this cabin, with its relaxing hot tub, fireplace, and comfy bed! I saw some reviews saying the rules were “too” regimented but I disagree - this is not a hotel and so there are standards you have to uphold without daily housekeeping. This didn’t bother us at all! When we were unsure how to use the fire, staff replied to us on booking.com messages almost immediately.

The restaurant was good both with a really good standard menu and the special Philippino street food was excellent. Its location and views are very good. The four poster bed room was really nice.

It was stunning. A beautiful wee retreat.

It was stunning. A beautiful wee retreat. Not to far from reality, but having a wee cup of tea looking out over the hills does you good. Wish we’d been able to stay a bit longer to take advantage of some of the walks in the area, and to allow the boys to get good and muddy😊

Couldn't stay any longer, no hot water so couldn't shower,...

Couldn't stay any longer, no hot water so couldn't shower, was expected to wash up so had to boil 3 kettles in order to do so but unfortunately we didn't realise there was no hot water until late, no way to contact owners except email which they didn't reply to. They said they would be around at 10pm to put chemicals in hot tub but no one came. Comfy beds but old dirty bedding. That been said, was a beautiful place, had we been able to speak to someone to get hot water I would have left a good review except for the road trying to get there. Owners didn't reply to either email I sent

Beautifully village set in the hills. Lovely area. Not much in terms of amenities, but there was a beautiful town I around 10 minutes away that had everything you would need including a few supermarkets, take aways, restaurants etc The Indian was delicious and had a very friendly owner.

Really wished we'd not eaten a big lunch as Ye Olde Rock Inn looked like a great place to eat. We went as we were staying locally, and all the staff were fantastic. Actually might go back just to go here.

    Excellent place to stay.

Excellent place to stay. Close to other cottage and shepherd's hut so can hear others chatting but wasn't an issue. Narrow road to cottage but passing places. Cow's in the fields which was heavenly to see and hear. Walking distance to the Roaches and tea room.
