Denise and her staff were very friendly and helpful and dog friendly. The room had all the usual beverages and a bonus of a mini fridge ,great idea. Although the pub wasn't doing food at the time we stayed, there was a list of good pubs for us to visit just a short car journey away. The village is small, lovely and quite perfect to use as a base for visiting other attractions in the area.

Great little room right next to the small pub. No noise from the pub at all as across a tiny car park. Lovely cosy and warm room with a great shower. Nice to be able to pop across to the pub for a friendly drink.

A beautiful area frozen in time, populated with a very friendly bunch of people. Stayed in the Royal Oak, just off the main highway. The route to the venue is through a narrow little farm road, which is surprisingly well-maintained. The Royal Oak accommodation is fantastic and well-priced. We settled in, had a quick drink and then met friends for dinner at a pub about 10 minutes away in Castle Bytham (the Castle Inn). This is also a lovely little pub with a good mixture of young and old, regulars and visitors. We only stayed one night and continued our journey to Donnington the next morning, stopping over for breakfast at the Best Western hotel (Sysonby Knoll) in Leicestershire. This tiny journey through the midlands was unforgettable.
