Staff attentive and very friendly. Went that extra mile for guests. Room was cosy and had character. Felt very welcome from the minute we arrived. Little touches were appreciated, such as Happy Anniversary written on dessert plates. Would definitely visit again. .

The managers (Fiona and Gage) and staff (Alison was the only other we met) were all very friendly and accommodating of any requests. They were extremely helpful with recommendations for things to do with the kids and places to eat.
The kids loved the bunk beds and the huge king bed was so comfortable too.
We had to get in touch with one of the managers late one evening because of an issue outside our bedroom and she was on-site within 5 minutes and the problem was sorted immediately, very reassuring as I was on my own with my kids.
The breakfast was delicious and Alison was great company and full of chat!
The guest house is walking distance to the city, even with younger kids, or there is a bus stop just round the corner. The perfect location to explore the city every day.
I can't recommend this guest house highly enough. We will most definitely be back.

The room was very spacious the bed was big and comfy,there was a massive smart TV which was unexpected and a lovely perk plus the location is perfect a short walk from the centre and Abbey to easily explore.
A quiet place within 20 minutes of York. If you enjoy peace & quiet and are happy to drive to where you need to go - taxis are expensive with the out of town charge - then this is definitely a place worth considering.
