The Swan Hotel, hotel in Sandgate

On the main High Street in the seaside town of Hythe, this historic coaching inn has recently been refurbished all rooms, corridor and entire building with high standard facilities available and now...

Rooms were clean and the staff very friendly; my main complaint was that my room was above the bar and the music coming through the floor was incredibly loud; I had an early start and couldn’t get to sleep until the pub closed.

The Portland Hotel, hotel in Sandgate

Opposite the Leas Cliff Hall, beside the sea and Folkestone town centre, The Portland Hotel has a popular bar and restaurant and free Wi-Fi access.

The Portland Hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but I had a beautiful, comfortable room right next to Leas Cliff Hall. Friendly staff too. It's an excellent spot if you are visiting for Folkestone parkrun - the start is right next to the hotel.

Enjoyed a really lovely stay in this cosy little retreat close to the beach. Unexpected snacks/treats provided by the host were very much appreciated! Accommodation was very comfortable and in the perfect location. There was also a private outdoor space which would be lovely to enjoy in the Spring/Summer. The Port Lympne Wildlife Reserve is under 20 minutes drive away and well worth a visit. I will very likely be visiting again!

    Sandgate is so nice.

Sandgate is so nice. Just the right size and distance from hythe and sandgate. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a few shops. The beach is lovely and it’s a nice level walk to hythe or Folkestone as it’s half way between the two. There are lots of buses so once you’ve parked your car you won’t need to use it 7ntil you go home x

The perfect seaside little town with beautiful pebble beaches that stretch for miles to Folkestone on one side and Hythe on the other. The small high street is full of cute little antique shops and coffee shops. We had a great breakfast at Comemos where dogs are welcome and they have serve great food and superb coffee. A very friendly loca pub is The Earl of Clarendon. Folkestone is around 40 minutes away if you fancy a great invigorating walk along the coast line or 6 minutes by car. And Hythe is only 15 minutes walk where you can enjoy superb seafood at Hythe Bay seafood restaurant.

A very quaint town with a great selection of pubs and restaurants. The Main Street had a nice mix of antique shops, perfect for browsing. There is a pathway at the waterfront perfect for walking or running. We noticed some development of properties as it seems to be a much sought after location.
