The host was particularly helpful even before my arrival, as I needed assistance with navigation as I could not use Satnav. After a fraught drive on 2 motorways & despite enjoying the beautiful scenery due to an unexpected detour, I felt relieved to arrive at such a 'homely' looking hotel. Not here the usual long reception desk which graces many chain hotels, but a fine gentleman making me feel very welcome, who carried my bag for me & gave me a choice of two rooms, both on the ground floor. as I'd requested. Such a comfortable bed too & the best nights sleep I'd had for a week and woke to the sound of birds singing. Continental breakfast 1st day but full English on my 2nd morning, before my drive back 'up north'. Such an enjoyable stay so it's 5 Stars from me !

Amazing size of room. Very comfortable bed. Loved the l’Occitane handwash/shower gel. Appreciated the green approach to servicing our room. Views of river, although had to duck round desk etc to see out properly. Easy to reach town centre and riverside.
