Travelling for Alton Towers this was a lovely little stop for the night before moving on to Alton.
Nice small compact room and lovely cosy little bar area for evening meal and a few drinks.
The food in the bar area was exceptional, though check the timings, the bar was only open from 7pm for food, don't know if that's normal.
Whiston Hall is set in scenic Staffordshire countryside, just a 10-minute drive from Alton Towers. The 19th-century hotel has a leafy golf course, a modern bar area and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi.

We arrived around 6:30pm and we were shown around the area (the hut and the bathroom)then left to enjoy a peaceful evening! Host was excellent at providing us with dinner options around the local area, the hut was in perfect condition and the bed was super comfortable! We had some lovely visitors (ducks and chickens as well as a cat!) shame the weather wasn’t great but we will definitely make up for this during the summer as we cannot wait to travel back to this location! Thank you again for the lovely hospitality!

We loved the location, perfect for Alton Towers and also some beautiful walks. Phil recommended a lovely pub ( The Alton Bridge) for our evening meal which was a very good standard. Everything we needed for our family weekend away was met.
We came for Alton Towers, so the location is perfect for that - couldn’t imagine you could stay closer aside from the on-site hotel! The room was a great size, bed incredibly comfortable and lots and lots of little touches to make your stay great. The TV built into the bed & the Alexa in the room just gonna me a couple. We will definitely be coming to stay with Phil & Helen again, very friendly and hospitable people to spend a couple nights with. Plus the breakfast is amazing - especially the sausages included in the Full English.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice at breakfast (and had dairy free milk on hand) and the food was good every time. Also we thought the hotel 'guidebook' was hilarious and definitely recommend reading this little gem. Very clean, spacious triple room and nice outdoor space. The location was also very good with plenty of nearby places to eat and very close to alton towers.

The location was ideal as we had a 2 day pass to Alton Towers Resort.
Would definitely recommend an overnight stay as a cheaper alternative to staying at the Alton Towers Resorts Hotels.

This Inn was set in beautiful location with everything you need to hand. The staff were excellent hostesses, we felt so welcomed. The food was 5*. Highly recommend 👌 this Hotel/Inn for anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Pictures do not do the hotel justice. Its a stunning country hotel with amazing friendly staff who will happily go out if their way to accommodate any requests. They are also fantastic with children!
