The staff were helpful, friendly. Nothing was any trouble to them. This hotel definately had the wow factor. It was in ideal location for my daughter and I who were going to a concert in the Glasshouse. We will definately book here again on our return to Gateshead/Newcastle.

I know North Shields well, it’s slowly been redeveloping and I’m wondering what will replace the wilko next in the beacon centre. My kids love this place. The fish quay further down the steep hill with plenty of fisheries, and fishing boats. A small beach that can overlook the ocean and sometimes the cruise ship. And the fact you can hop on a ferry that’ll take you into South Shields aswell.

The only negative is the entrance is on a main road at a junction but once inside the flat you are in a lovely calm space. Great for a family holiday and really comfortable to stay in. The area around the flat is well worth exploring. Lots of lovely parks and beautiful terraced streets.

Best place visited was Cragside near Morpeth. Wonderful house and massive grounds spent a whole day there. Went over to Holy Island and did the scenic coastal drive. North Shields is up and coming Northumberland Square is a lovely Georgian area a short walk from the apartment. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to so will have to come back

A trip down memory lane, North Shields has changed a lot over the past twenty or thirty years ( as all places do) but there are still little reminders of its history. A walk down the fish quay and onto the beach is refreshing and brings back many memories!
