The location was perfect, and simplicity of the place was ideal. It was just what we wanted, no fuss, easy to come and go as we pleased. The place was clean and well-equipped, we really couldn't have asked for more.

It was in a lovely location. The Annexe was very tastefully decorated. It was peaceful and quiet. It had a microwave and plates and cutlery were provided, but I would recommend you take a tea towel or speak to the owner, she is really friendly and I’m sure she would provide one.

Church Farmhouse B & B, hotel in Mildenhall

Set in Kennett, in a historic building, 19 km from The Apex, Church Farmhouse B & B is a bed and breakfast with a garden and tennis court.

The breakfast was excellent. Alison asked us the night before what we'd like for breakfast and was even able to include some vegetarian sausages (although I had forgotten to mention this in advance). The building is a lovely old (mid 1800s) and characterful house with spacious rooms and excellent ensuite facilities. The Rose room had a huge bed, a chair and sofa and even a chair in the bathroom. Coffee and tea facilities are provided in the rooms. There is off-road parking for a few cars right next to the house. The area is very quiet and peaceful and the Icknield Way passes right outside.

The biggest problems were the awful mattress, tiny TV and the noise.. also on the booking with you,it said that breakfast was available at £6:50 per person.... But they didn't do any breakfast,so we had to go into the town to find a café.

    Lovely part of the world.

Lovely part of the world. Given it's proximity to US air bases it's a pity that levels of 'service' commonplace in America don't appear yet to have rubbed off on the locals. Town has everything you need and more. Take time to suss out the backways... you'll avoid traffic queues.

The shower didn't heat up when I was trying to get ready at 6am - I tried it for several minutes on various settings. The room was freezing when I got in - single glazed windows, and the only source of heat is an old noisy aircon unit that needed about 2 hours to get the room warm. There was a function on (a very small function from what I could see), so the restaurant wasn't open for dinner - I should have been notified of this in advance. I had to go out to get a takeaway instead of eating in. The staff are pleasant, but not particularly friendly or helpful - you feel as though they're doing you a favour by serving you... The rooms are quite old fashioned and need some TLC (trim missing on the bedside tables). Lighting used is old energy saver bulbs which take ages to brighten, especially in the bathroom.

We regularly visit Mildenhall for family reasons.

We regularly visit Mildenhall for family reasons. It is a small attractive town with a splendid church with an angel ceiling. Like most historic towns, the attractive shopping areas of old has been a little blighted by recent developments in retail. However, the immediate environs is full of rural interest. The town also provides good road links.

Location was great for visiting Lakenheath airfield.

Location was great for visiting Lakenheath airfield. Car park adequate and safe. Hotel desperately in need of a refit especially the exterior. Good breakfast cafe next door. Nothing to see in Mildenhall itself. Better to try Newmarket to stay at.

Lovely property and host, very approachable.

Lovely property and host, very approachable. Comfy bed and well resourced kitchen. Liked · Beautiful rural location and v quiet lovely host, comfy bed, we slept well, the host sorted out a query, quickly, loved the dog. Would happily stay again, the Millenium walk along the river is a beautiful one and there are maps around Barton Mills to show the route. Disliked · There is no house sign with Apple Cottages on it or a house number as an alternative so we had to search the length of the road to find the property and then work it out from a google maps picture. The breakfast was good but not as substantial as the photo on the basket showed; we were given at a reduced price however. Needs salt and a pepper grinder in the kitchen. We sat in the garden which was delightful.

The location in the centre of Mildenhall was a real plus. The check-in was smooth even though we were early, and didn't need access to the room at that time. Our room was on the first floor at the front of the hotel, but we didn't notice traffic noise. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. We were allowed to bring some friends into the hotel to join us at breakfast, and it all worked seamlessly. The staff were always attentive and welcoming.

A very elegant and historical hotel not far from Mildenhall. The lady behind reception was very friendly and helpful. There's a nice large garden with plenty of seating. I had booked a single room but I actually got a double. The room had a cosy boutique feel and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. Breakfast was included.
