Chestnut Farm Holiday Cottages, hotel in Middleton

Situated within 30 km of Buxton Opera House and 38 km of Alton Towers in Matlock, Chestnut Farm Holiday Cottages provides accommodation with seating area.

Very quiet location but still close to nearest village with 2 pubs and tearoom. The village of Bonsall is very pretty. There is a very comprehensive welcome pack including wine and pack of biscuits which was much appreciated. The underfloor heating is very nice. Everything you need and more is provided in the cottage and it is kept in excellent condition. Liz, the host, is very helpful and recommended a trip to Chatsworth House which was well worth visiting.

Middleton is quite pleasant to look at and within easy reach...

Middleton is quite pleasant to look at and within easy reach of lots of truly beautiful scenery and wonderful places to visit. However, there is not much there, not even a shop. The nearest shop we found was the co op by the garage in Wirksworth. It's fine, it just means you need to be organised with any food shopping you need to do or, in my father's case, when you are going to be able to buy your daily paper!

Rising sun is a nice pub for food and atmosphere, service was excellent. Nearby in wirksworth the farmers market was excellent, runs first Saturday of the month. Bakery selling pies were really delicious and would buy again. The owner for the property was very responsive for any questions from myself which is what you need.

Pleasant village well located for visiting Derbyshire dales...

Pleasant village well located for visiting Derbyshire dales and big tourist attractions such as Matlock and Crich. Two decent pubs (friendly natives). Two nearby steam railways. Close to High Peak Trail for walkers and cyclists. Fairly good local bus services. Not too far from what some might say is a very nice railway station at Cromford.
