The room was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and warm but we found the bedside tables a nuisance. They were very small with a big table lamp stuck on top. This was inconvenient as we needed to put tablets, clocks, water etc on the table. I put mine on the floor put we needed to leave the other one as a bedtime switch off . The hotel had romantic memories for us, being where we met almost 60 years ago! It was convenient for where we wanted to go.

Swan Studios, hotel in Lynemouth

Swan Studios in Choppington features 3-star accommodation. Free WiFi and free parking are available. The rooms all feature seating areas with coffee tables, and en-suite facilities.

Probably the cleanest and tidiest place we have stayed. Thick comfy carpet, good heating, good tv placed centrally. Liked the fact you can park right outside your door too. Very quiet, never heard a neighbour (although not sure if there even was one). Good wi-fi, we plugged the laptop into the tv and watched netflix with no problems.

Great location for easily reaching the local beaches.

Great location for easily reaching the local beaches. The coop was very close to hand for a few essential bits and pieces. We tried the local fish and chip shop, the seafare which was really good and the Chinese, riverside which was lovely. We had a lovely trip to amble and to the beach at cresswell. The cakes at the drift cafe were really nice. It was v busy but the service was good and the cakes were fresh, drinks were good etc. I’m sure the food there will be great too!

Very small village with minimal amenities but well located to visit all the local attractions. Newbiggin by the sea is only a short drive away and a beautiful place to have a walk and a drink. The Plough pub in the next village of Ellington does nice food and friendly service. Ashington is not far away and has everything you need.

The price paid matched the accommodation.

The price paid matched the accommodation. It was adequate, comfortable and had good, basic facilities. It looked as though it had been a multiple occupancy accommodation and the thing that let it down was a penetrating smell in the main bedroom that wecould not get rid of. Also, if you opened the window in that bedroom, as the waste bins were right outside, you got the stench from the bins. Not sensible placing of property bins!
