Callow Hall is a gorgeous historic property, the styling is immaculate and immediately creates a relaxing and welcoming environment. We decided to stay in one of the Hives and I’m so glad we did, Rosebay was situated in the middle of the woods next to the hotel and the views of the countryside and bluebells were beautiful and calming. The food and drink was also excellent. The staff were professional but laid back. We can’t recommend highly enough!
Set in the beautiful Dovedale Valley, The Izaak Walton is a 17th-century hotel with spectacular views across the Derbyshire countryside, known for its fishing streams, a log fireplace in the front...

Excellent breakfast!
The Royal Oak is situated just out of Ashbourne close to the start of the Tissington Trail and it has a large car park.
The bar menu was excellent and the food was very good (if you want to eat book a table as the restaurant is very popular). If we stay in Ashbourne again we will try to book a table here.
Very comfortable bed.

Kniveton is a quiet village with one pub but no shops.
Kniveton is a quiet village with one pub but no shops. There is a regular bus service as it stands on the main road between Matlock and Ashnourne. There is a village pub which is quiet and cosy. It is situated in an ideal position for walking and visiting local attractions such as Dovedale, Alton Towers, Gullivers Kingdon and plenty of walks.

Easy access to derby and Peak District which is what we wanted. Cottage was clean and well maintained. It is old with character so lovely but we found it a bit damp and musty ( just a tiny bIt) a short 3 night stay was fine. Good value for money! Sadly local Pub closed Monday and Tuesday - two nights we were there! Lovely local pubs if you are happy to drive 10 minutes. Gate Inne and coach and horses at fenney Bentley were lovely for home cooked food
