This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It is stunning and we couldn’t fault it. John was so welcoming and every member of staff met you with a genuine smile and couldn’t do enough for you. The facilities are superb and the food was out of this world. Breakfast was so well thought out and you could tell how home made it was. Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

Gunthorpe is a very small hamlet with no shop, pub, restaurant. The roads are narrow, with no street lamps and you need to drive out a couple of miles to buy a newspaper. It is quite remote so it's lovely and quiet. If you want a busy town with lots of shops, pubs etc stay elsewhere.
It is however, very close to Thursford and perfect for the fabulous Christmas Spectacular which occurs every year.
