Gorgeous property with wonderful staff throughout. Our room was in one of the converted cottages, beautifully done and we even had an Easter egg left as a gift as it was over Easter weekend. Everywhere was spotless and well presented, food and drink exceptional, perfect place for a romantic getaway.

This is a beautiful town for a wander especially if you have a love of history. I popped into the nearby church of St Mary’s being a lover of churches, cathedrals and castles and was plied with delicious tea, scones and cake for morning tea. The love the locals here have for their community is infectious and I will definitely return one day.
Rooms all lovely, like a modest country house as much as a pub. Charlie the owner very helpful. Location near Castle Coombe great. Grittleton itself is a very pleasant village and the Neeld Arms is adjacent the church and has the stately home Grittleton House (wedding and events only, not open to public) bang opposite. Food superb, both breakfasts and particularly the steak pie on Tuesday Pie Night, fantastic value. We shall go again, which I think is the best recommendation.
We loved our stay at the Garden House. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was very tasty and good value for money. The property itself was lovely, the gardens were beautiful and the village of Grittleton is very quaint. It was a perfect base for attending Badminton Horse Trials and exploring the beautiful area, Castle Combe is worth checking out too.
We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was very good, the staff very attentive to what we wanted and making sure we had everything we needed. We also needed to have breakfast earlier than the usual time for breakfast and again they accommodated this request and breakfast was served promptly. The lady serving us for breakfast was a delight, chatty and good fun.
The staff were welcoming and their response to a heating issue was immediate. The room had been recently refurbished. There was plenty of room with a good en-suite. The bed was very comfortable. The location could not have been better for a wedding in Grittleton House. Breakfast and an evening meal were very good.
Location is a short walk to Grittleton Hall which was perfect as we were attending a wedding reception.
Staff were welcoming , friendly and helpful. The bar area was cosy wide a good range of local craft ales on tap.The breakfast options were very good and we did enjoy the full English.
A pub which isn't a 'boutique hotel' (thank goodness!) - it retains its original character. Evening meals excellent and good atmosphere. Limited choice for breakfast, but what we had was very good. Room a good size. The beds were comfortable. The pub is located in a lovely village.
we loved this charming hotel, perfect immersion into the English countryside experience, staying in rooms above the pub! Delicious fish and chips meal and sticky toffee dessert for dinner. Full English breakfast was perfect with the best English breakfast tea!
We had a very comfortable stay in The Garden House, which is located close to both a pretty Cotswolds village (Castle Combe) and the motorway (M5). The hosts, Andy and Sarah, were helpful, and they provided an excellent cooked breakfast. Highly recommended!
The location was very good and Grittleton is a very cute village with nice walks and a great pub within walking distance.
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast good and abundant.
Peace and quiet after a busy week for us.
Everyone at the hotel made us feel right at home-- especially Nick, who helped us in the morning! Excellent value for money! Perfect location for people visiting Bath and Castle Combe! Delicious breakfast!
Good country pub/hotel. Large bedroom and in a quiet location away from the public rooms. Dinner was good, well cooked "Pub Grub", hot, tasty and value for money.
